Overdone profiles

I understand that the customizable profile pages has everyone scrambling to pimp their pages. But don't you think readability should be considered and prioritized?

If your profile page has too many images and graphics and weird colors that make it difficult to read the text, what's the point?

At the end of the day, text still remains the primary form of communication here.
