⋆ ☘️ Artist Day 15 haul & recap! 🍋˚♬ ₊‧

i went to 'artist day 15' last sunday, an artist alley / convention in my country! here's a haul & recap of my experience attending it!  

i've been to artist day three times already, and i never fail to have a good time there! every artists boothing there are super cool and i wish i could buy every single item there lol.

this time i was asked to pick up stuff for my friends in another city, so i have to prepare stuff in advance. there's also this thing called 'oc trading card', self explanatory but basically anyone in the event can trade cards of their oc to each other, how cool is that :0? so my friends sent me a bunch of their oc cards and i also brought a bunch of my own cards too!

anyways here're the stuff i got and some pics i took! 

— haul 

i did made a sheet listing every item i wanted to buy and i did get almost everything! since i was picking up stuff for my friends as well, i had to go back and forth to be able to buy everything, and it doesn't help that the area is REALLY crowded as well (｡>__<)!!

i did miss a few items but i can always look into the online orders that the artists will open later, so that's ok! i've sent the items to my friends already, so these are just the things i bought for myself :']

— gift 

i didn't actually expect myself to get a gift at an event like this Σ(°ㅁ°) first time i've received a gift at a convention is from an art mutual i've known since 2021 - 2022, this is the first time i receive a gift from someone i've never met before!

for context, a few days before the actual convention, people will either post pictures or drawings of their outfit along with oc cards or gifts (if they had any) so if anyone wants to look for them, they have a reference. i posted mine and also prepared some doukyuusei art prints and badges for any fans that i may find, i didn't expect many fans to be commenting under my post, which made me very happy that i still manage to find my people lol. (..◜ᴗ◝..)

while i was buying stuff for my friends, someone bumped into me and asked "oh hey, are you that one person who has the doukyuusei gifts?" 
∘ ∘ ∘ (  °ヮ  ° ) ? WHATTT YESS YESS THAT'S ME!! ommghhgngg ahhghhh despite my goldfish memory i immediately recognize them as one of the commenters under my fit check post! they cut me off guard cuz i didn't expect anyone to recognize me. 

unfortunately i haven't gotten my art prints yet so i gave them one of the badges i prepared, they handed me a pencil drawing of kusakabe and sajoy and oughh words cannot describe how happy i was (*꒦ິ꒳꒦ີ)♡♡. i told them that i was going to get back to them once i've gotten the art prints, and thankfully they were still there when the art prints arrived!

oh and the two little drawings were requests from an artist, they often open requests before cons and turn them into cute little handmade cards!! i especially lovee the way they decorate the cards... they're so pretty.. (♡ ˊ͈ ꒳ ˋ͈)

someone also commented under my fit check post they they'll be bringing the plushies of kusajou to their booth and OF COURSE i need to visit them. they let me take pictures and hold them. they look so stupid and silly i want to squish their stupid faces so bad... i also gave that person my gifts and i'm glad they liked them (˶˃ ᵕ ˂˶)!!

— oc trading cards 

this is by far the craziest and most fun part of the artist alley, as i didn't expect myself to be able to trade THIS many cards, but to be fair i did brought over 100 cards LOL. everyone's cards are all super duper pretty,, some even traded with or include stickers and they all look so cute  (˵˃ ᗜ ˂˵)!!

i should probably buy a proper binder soon cuz my current one the sheets don't fit into the actual binder itself, which is a bummer cuz i spent all night decorating the binder ( –___– ")

as much as i had fun trading oc cards with people, i still felt a bit disappointed as i couldn't find some people i really wanted to meet and trade cards with, one of them includes the art mutual i mentioned above!

i even stumbled into one of my favorite artists not once but twice! but i couldn't approach them cuz in both instances i either was holding my card binder or they were busy on the phone (╥﹏╥) but oh well, there's always next time! 

funny enough i even stumbled upon my school friends and some mutuals who i didn't even know were coming to the convention lol.

overall the artist alley went as well as i expected, there were still some things i missed out on but they don't affect my experience at the con too much. it was exhausting but still i had a lot of fun, and i'm thankful for anyone who came up to me for card trading and the gifts! 

i'm so glad to be in a friendly and supporting community and i wish to meet everyone again! looking forward to artist day 17!
