why judge music tastes?

music is a topic which comes up pretty often between me and my friends, especially at school but sometimes it just escalates-_- i myself say i have a pretty unique music taste (at least for thepeople in my country) and everytime we talk about music they judge my music taste… its genuinely only my school friends who do so, my other friends are pretty chill and almost listen to the same music

i don’t judge people’s music tastes unless they judge mine - which isn’t better ofc but i get pretty offended and hurt when they hate on it

i started listening to visual kei music a few years ago and it genuinely helped me through hard times. i became a fan of several bands and put up some posters in my room because i really like them. One day i invited my friends over and the first thing they did was judging my posters and saying how ugly they were and it genuinely hurt me, after a few weeks i removed the posters and didn’t put something else up

and then they get offended when i say something against their music taste (they listen to german rap which is genuinely the worst genre ever)

i never said anything bad against their music taste before they judged mine so i don’t get why they’d do that

WHAT

Yup. I never once said age gap relationships should be normal, I only said Lana sings about fictional characters and no teen girls were harmed. That, and Tiktok started the whole nymphette thing, so it's not really her fault.

Boom! Labelled pedo

For real, They caught me one time listening to the split release Einsatzgruppen / Balmung - "Enter The Hyperborean Forest of Hatred".

I was greeted with 1930s German salutes for the rest of the semester.
