Im sorry, but people are calling anything poetry nowadays. Im afraid putting an enter between the sentences does not make it poetry, no. It can be poetic, maybe, but if theres no rhythm, no rhymes, no emotional depth, no metaphors, no detailed imagery or description, no thought put into it? Not any of that? Then thats just text, sweetheart. You’re just telling me about your day.
I hate the way everything is watered down nowadays. Maybe it makes poetry more accessible, maybe now anyone can write “poetry”—I don’t care. Write what you want, but don’t call it something its not.
You can bring me a plate of raw chicken, raw eggs, and uncooked rice, but you wont convince me its a delicious meal.

EXACTLY!! I wrote poems for my partner, and then show them to her and some specific people in a writing group im in, and yes, while their poems are alot better and wistful than mine are, alot of them are just words put together.
thats so thoughtful of you! keep writing, and keep improving :)) Your poetry is sure a 100 times better than what ive just encountered... (that made me write this post)
