To 18+ people (NOT NSFW!!)

Hey, so I got a genuine question for the ones that are 18, especially at their last year of high school

Do your parents also still ground you? My parents are kinda strict, but I didn't honestly expect them to keep grounding me for every little mistake. I feel a bit trapped in my house because of it, however that may sound like. I just wanted to see how your guys situation is.

i lived with my parents all throughout college, and really only moved out a few years ago. the reason i finally moved out was because of this "trapped" feeling. at the time my brother and his daughter moved back in with us and the house just felt too crowded. my dad couldn't really ground me, but he was definitely up my ass about things he was concerned about. to be honest, he still is. it's funny, it's kinda like him being upset and nagging me was just as bad and annoying as being "grounded". but instead of him taking my ps vita or putting a passcode on the tv, he just bothers the shit out of me lol. he was very "slavic" in his parenting and as my brother and i got older we stopped taking shit from him. but we also respect and love him enough that we want to make sure that he's happy, he's got enough shit going on haha. essentially, even if the "grounding" stops, something else might take it's place that makes you feel "trapped". know your limits and be prepared to either appease your parents or start working on having a way out, but take your time and plan it out (unless its not safe or something, cause that will always be your priority)
