about transandrophobia...

i wrote in my transandrosexism coining blog post that i wanted to forgo the usage of transandrophobia as a framework and term. not because i personally disliked it, but because it gets us no where when discussing the actual fear factor of it.

"i do not think they --just-- fear trans men," is written there. I have had comments about this numerous times where the people who are not getting the message are getting the idea of me ignoring androphobia's factor in this. TERFs do not JUST fear trans men, they want to mercy kill them. I do not think that trans men are feared for being trans men but rather they are feared for how much masculinity they present, they hold, and their intersections within it.

then, i started with my own experience, which people seemed to forget is different than their own, and I said that when i was transitioning in the transbinary, I was not feared like a cis man was but rather victimized and infantilized. I am a BLACK nonbinary person who was once a BLACK man in public settings and in education. I am dark, I am "white teeth in the dark", dark. I know people fear me, but it is not because I am a trans man but rather because I am a --black-- trans man who used to intentionally pass more frequently. I think attributing this fear part to all trans men fails, as it assumes that since they take the identity of man then that automatically makes them fear us (similarly to how when trans men are men, suddenly they just have male privileges??), but rather it is the androgenizing HRT, it is the masculinity, it is our sex, it is our voices, it is how we move and speak, and it is our color that scares them. the fact that we are BECOMING men scares TERFs.

not all trans men fit this bill, and so they will not be feared, they will be laughed at for "mocking" masculinity. the scary ones are the ones the TERFs were not able to catch, the ones that "mimic" their way into spaces, the ones who "infect" young girls as predators. Do you not see the pattern of thinking? not all of us are feared depending on what we look like, but since TERFs know that some of us have the ability to pass, THEY BECOME afraid at the prospect of invaders, of gender traitors, of "AFAB men" taking over. THAT is the fear.

while i hate to compare, trans women are feared the same way through focused androphobia, resulting in many of them to go down hyper feminine routes to avoid 1) being outed and 2) being forced out of a space that is supposed to be for all women. this is the same fear, but reversed. the fear of the mimic, the fear of the predatory, the fear of the unknown imitator - TERFs are afraid of not being able to OUT and to TELL their victims, and so they choose to randomly target others hoping they point at one person and find a tranny. because trans women are in a harder spot, they are more visible, and because of said woman's proximity to an assigned malehood (despite her current sex traits, possibility of intersexness, or hormonal status,) TERFs choose to use them as poster children to "spotting a trans identified." Because they are attacking supposed traits of masculinity while degrading what femininity can look like in various people.

trans men are feared through targeted androphobia. since TERFs now ""understand"" how to spot a trans identified "male," they must know how to spot a trans identified "female," right? short, feminine voice, soft skin, "femaleness"...?? instead of making trans women their targets, they focus on trans women's "defining" traits and compare and contrast with trans men in order to target their masculinity and catch them before they "invade" our women's spaces with their manhood. TERFs think the entire transsexual ploy is to MAKE MORE MEN, and DESTROY WOMEN. why do you think they focus so much on who is "really a woman?"

TERFs want to mercy kill trans men so that they detransition, become women again, or die and be buried under the female sex. they will do everything in their power to make sure the trans man is pushed down. they will use our sisters to kill us, they will use our own brothers too, and our cousins will be caught in this too. they are not scared of our manhood, they are scared of the possibility that we might never be "caught" for the crime of "predating" on other "autistic little girls" to turn them into boys. while i agree that transandrophobia has a nice ring and constitutes the start of a new speech, i think the coining and the way people treat the term has failed in how it is presented publicly.
