17/12/2025 blinkies, friends, and more music

I am truly a genius, finally fixed the glass beach blog theme (i dont know what the fuck happened i fixed it by continuously copying other peoples code over mine and checking if it worked)

aight time for a story

yesterday my friend came over to my house coz she got me something for christmas (very sweet of her i didnt know she was gonna do that). its funny cuz when she arrived, her mom who brought thier doggie started walking him in my neighborhood lmfao. i hope the lil dude didnt get spooked by the amount of cats around my neighborhood. anywho the gift was a dip pen! DIP pen yanno you DIP it on ink on WET INK yanno like PROFESSIONAL COMIC ARTISTS 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯

i was like damn bro this is SO COOL and i gave it a try without a tutorial because i was kinda too lazy lol. it was better than the fountain pen i had. i just need to buy good paper so that my ink doesnt bleed everywhere. also the ink dries insanely quick, a 30 second pause will dry it. NO CLUE WHY, if its the ink quality or its just that way, if you know something that i dont pls enlighten me. ill definitely watch a tutorial on yt before using it for actual drawings tho next time.

anyways it would suck if she just came over to give me sumn so i showed her my spacehey and then we browsed peoples profiles LOL, it was fun hearing her call me and everyone here weirdos because... its true... if we were normal we wouldnt be here guys... anyways then we watched minecraft. that poor vs rich movie by ich ish? ish i think its his name. honestly it was more engaging than i expected, but the fact that its minecraft throws me the fuck off lol. when theyre being serious i jsut cringe like DAMN bro just log off sobs. but its cool its fun.

and today well i added more blinkies to my site so you can go and peruse through that. actually why dont i jsut put the code here...

bam! ohohoho the lines of code for these gifs are excruciatingly long its crazy

well i guess i can talk about music, as i do. before that maybe i should elaborate on my rating scale since we all have our own different perceptions of 1 to 10 and i want to make mine clear.

GOOD ZONE

  • im feeling jemotions - 10
  • le epicus - 9
  • oh golly good show - 8
  • great - 7
  • nice - 6

MID ZONE

  • not bad - 5
  • didn't impress me - 4

BAD ZONE

  • ungood - 3
  • terrible - 2
  • curb stomping ts - 1

it used to be less forgiving than this (6 and 5 were mid and the rest were bad) but i realized i find most things pretty good and having such a big bad zone was useless. i only have like in total 9 albums stuck on the bad zone in my RYM, none of them being 1/10.

15/12's music time

anywhooooo, 2 days ago i didnt get to report about my listening, but i was indeed listening to:

[1] [2] [3]

  1. Baked Goods - Fresh Out of the Oven (https://rateyourmusic.com/release/album/baked-goods/fresh-out-of-the-oven/)
4/10, indie and jazz rock, was kindaaa boring ngl, didnt put a mark on me. it had a samey kind of feeling to it and yeah, just got no love for it frankly. its very obscure though which is why i gave it a listen in the first place.

  2. Animal Collective - Sung Tongs (https://rateyourmusic.com/release/album/animal-collective/sung-tongs/)
5/10, apparently its FREAK FOLK whatever that is, with a side flavor of psychedelia. very folk, very chaotic, tooootally avant garde, probably very technical as well but i dont get difficult music stuff like that. all i know is listening to it was very weird and somewhat unpleasant. i like alot of weird things but this is the kind of weird that i dont get. my RYM mutuals really like this one so im the odd one out -_-

Animal Collective has been a band i tried getting into before, because people keep sayin jus how good it is. tried listening to Merriweather Post Pavillion and didnt really enjoy it either. It wasnt as avant garde as this one iirc but the feeling of unpleasantness was the same. I dunno if ill ever 'get it' with these folks. ill probably try again because i seriously want to hear what everyone else is hearing from these guys.

  3. This Is the Glasshouse - 867 (https://rateyourmusic.com/release/album/this-is-the-glasshouse/867/)
7/10! indie rock, post rock, art rock, dont really know what those two last ones supposed to sound like (especially art rock, every art rock album ive heard sound nothing alike sobs) but totally emo. and get this, its tagged as FURRY MUSIC on RYM lol. and it really does sound like what you'd expect of furry music (i.e. Vylet Pony) this guy is literally just the gay guy version of Vylet Pony, albeit his music captivates me much more than her music does.

emo emo emo so emo, i didnt pay closely to the lyrics but i know theres a song where this man is just YEARNING for his straight friend and it ends in catharsis. its instrumentally very good and theres parts where hes just speaking quietly as if reading a poem. its really cool and i think the queer aspect of it really touched me so thats why i gave it a 7 when otherwise it mightve been a 6.

also funny thing, its got 67 on its title, its consensus rating is 3.67/5, and its ranked 67th for 2025 in RYM. now at the time of writing it is 68th, but the fact that it was once a resounding 67 is absolute insanity.

holy yapppp, im not even DONE yet. go take a piss break and chug some water if youve been reading this far. cuz i am going to do so right nnyeow

alright next segment is a shorter one

16/12's music

(pasting the cover made me realize its not square)

  • Hedvig Mollestad - Ekhidna (https://rateyourmusic.com/release/album/hedvig-mollestad/ekhidna/)
7/10, also apart of the jazz rock journey with hard rock incorporated in it. i think i liked it decently alot when listening (initially had this at an 8) but the fact i cant recall how it sounded means that it didnt really stick in le head, so its gettin demoted to 7. thats just how itd be. tho i remember distinctively thinking "damn this sounds like jazz hard rock" only to find out yeah thats the direction, probably.

TODAY yay today 17/12 music

i listened to alot today ouhh i think im gonna keep the explanations punchy and short because i think ive spend almost an hour writing.

[1] [2] [3]

[4] [5]

  1. The Strike - A Dream Through Open Eyes (https://rateyourmusic.com/release/album/the-strike/a-dream-through-open-eyes/)
4/10, very generic and bland synthpop made in 2024 that sounds like its stuck in 2015... for context, i participate in this little discord event called albums exchange where i submit an album for my assigned partner to review and vice versa. this is the album i got and uh yeah.. im gonna struggle writing the review coz i dont wanna be mean but i also wanna be honest abt how i feel. also i always give the album i get 2x listen, first time to get a feel if i like it or not, second time to form more detailed thoughts on each part. im not looking forward to relistening because augh its boring bro sob

btw if u wanna hear EVEN more yap abt the discord reviews ive been making (and recieving) check this RYM list out ----> https://rateyourmusic.com/list/somethingsweet/keis-discord-album-exchange-reviews/

  2. Kero Kero Bonito - Time 'n' Place (https://rateyourmusic.com/release/album/kero-kero-bonito/time-n-place/)
lol i was working on my blinkies when i found a time n place blinkie on my files. i debated on putting it in, bc i dont put anything that i dont actually like and ive never heard the album before, so i decided to give it a listen and let that be my verdict. ended up not putting it in tho because wasnt that into it.

7/10, a concoction of indie, noisy, synthy, and dreamy twee pop. I think ive kinda just accepted I dont like twee pop that much, and this album hardly wowed me. its not bad but the glitchy moments feel so abrupt that it kinda ruins the flow, made it more disturbing than intriguing. its alright.

  3. Ninajirachi - I Love My Computer (https://rateyourmusic.com/release/album/ninajirachi/i-love-my-computer/)
6/10, electro house and some kind of EDM definitely, the glitchyness from Time 'n' Place got me thinking about this one and so i gave it a hear. although i agree with the title of the album, honestly i was expecting more. it was good but people seriously love this record. i thought it would wow me as much as brat did (i love brat lol i really didnt expect to like that album so much). but i might give it a relisten because its a type of genre i dont listen to often, and it wasnt unpleasant, just not stimulating enough for my noggin as ironic as that sounds since its an ELECTRONIC album.

  4. Ahleuchatistas - The Same and the Other (https://rateyourmusic.com/release/album/ahleuchatistas/the-same-and-the-other/)
5/10, math rock and brutal prog, also dont know what that is but it sounds exactly that, brutal. mathy and brutal. a fitting combo. yeah it just didnt hit me honestly, cant say i dislike it or anything. the tracks also kinda blended into one another, but could just be i wasnt paying enough attention to it. dunno if ill give it a relisten, but it was interesting.

  5. Maruja - Pain to Power (https://rateyourmusic.com/release/album/maruja/pain-to-power/)
7/10, listened to this while writing this blog actually lol. i think its almost 2 hours of me writing now. i forgot i wanted to keep it short oops. it was okay. i like sax so it was bound to be in the good zone, but i never really liked Maruja that much, mostly because of their vocalist. idk, his voice and the way he raps is just not my thing. but yea it was a nice album, instrumentally pretty good. i think i prefer their older stuff more tho.

its da end

WOWOWOWOWWOOWOWOWOWOOWOWOWOWOWOW im done wow. im starting to get a feel on how to blog here and how i like to set up my layout. i had a bit more to talk abt (aka how i finished Watchmen 2 days ago) but i think this blog is loaded enough. ill talk abt it later maybe idk.

also happy to report ive been listening to The Ooz by King Krule almost nonstop these past 4 days. After finishing Pain to Power, I started playing King Krule's live performances. I really like them NPR. check it out if youre interested in lo-fi jazzy and soul RnB vibes with occasional growling and a high dose of thoughtful depression.
