Okay before you hate me, just know that I used to listen to spotify too, I never hated it until recently and I LOVE music.
In recent months, the corporation decided to add more limits in the free plan. Limited skips per hour, decreased functionality tools on phones, and playing 2 ads in a row per six songs obviously annoyed many users, and most decided to leave and have left. Even knowing so, they decided to continue restricting our free plan, adding more tempting offers to the premium plan.
Iβm not sure how many people can see it but this is obviously a cheap, greedy strategy used by Spotify to lure people in buying their premium plans, which, by the way is too expensive for just an online streaming platform, yet many fall for it and I can see why- music is just too addicting and good. I donβt blame them, but I do hate Spotify for taking such control. (?!)
Hear me out βΒ if people back then could use so many features of the internet by just buying the corporationβs plan once, why are the same corporations switching to βrent/subscriptionsβ plans? Just so that we keep spending our money for their service.Β
For my next reason, I will only highlight a few sentences from an article I have read.
βSpotify, the worldβs leading music streaming platform, is facing intense criticism and boycott calls following CEO Daniel Ekβs announcement of a β¬600m ($702m) investment in Helsing, a German defense startup specializing in AI-powered combat drones and military software. The move, announced on 17 June, has sparked widespread outrage from musicians, activists and social media users who accuse Ek of funneling profits from music streaming into the military industry.β - Reem Aouir, Middle East Eye
This paragraph is literally the only thing you need to read to realize your subscription, streams and desire to listen to music is turned into bullets to kill humans in a later stage. It feels terribly wrong, when artists are not paid fairly even when you repeatedly stream their music, and somehow your innocent act becomes murderous when someone else decides to take advantage of where the money channels towards.
Music is a form of expression; everyone must have the freedom to listen to music. No greedy capitalist must take it away.

Oh my days, I didn't know that (β Λβ ο½₯β _β ο½₯β Λβ )
I've also thought about leaving but I don't really know which apps I could use like Spotify besides SoundCloud and YouTube music. Even then, I don't listen on it mainstream. But what they're doing is actually terrible, thanks for sharing this
haha you're welcome ^^
