Veganism and me

(DISCLAIMER: I do not have nothing against vegans or vegetarians, but I do have several opinions I wanted to share here. I do not mean to expand hate for them. Hope you enjoy!)

*I'll be using vegan to refer to any individual who doesn't eat meat. Obviously, I know the differences but I didn't want to write both terms differently everytime.

Have you ever talked to a vegan and felt insensitive? Well, I definetly have. I have met several vegans through out my life. Now, I'd like to make a differentiation between vegans. There's the ones who do it because of dietetic purposes and others for moral reasons. In this article, I'm only interested in the second.

Most vegans claim to do this because harming animals is wrong. That it is unfair to support a system which tortures animals and oppresses them just because they're mentally inferior to the human race.

That is, honesltly, a fair point. And although there's not enough vegans (and I don't think there will ever be) to boicot big companies which torture animals, they are making a good effort and I think we should appreciate their willpower.

However, I find myself with a question. Vegans want to stop this system, but have we not seen this same one (superior opressing inferior) in humanity itself. And although I'm not saying vegans are in favour for this, I think that they're focusing on a minor issue when we have worse problems among HUMANS.

Also, they have to spend more on food. Mainly because they have to make sure that their food has been fairly produced and that usually costs more. So unless they have enough money to afford these foods, they are (in my opinion) not very good vegans. Plus, harrassing people into becoming vegans knowing not everyone can afford it is kind of rude.

Anyways, this is just my opinion. Do you agree? If you disagree, let me know!
