Nuff said, what the fuck is up with these white LED lights, is winter not supposed to be cozy? Why do my eyes feel assaulted every time I go out at night? This shouldn't be so.
Winter in a world of white LED lights is unsurvivable

Shoplifters of the world, assemble and take over them white LEDs
I'm gonna become president and replace all the lights with cozy amber lights at night, helps with the circadian of animals (including humans) as well...

corps do NOT want our circadians going as they should

I might have a theory, the savings on LED lights might be negated by the supplemental cost of healthcare due to having everything fucked up real bad. But that's just a theory

Honestly they should be illegal, there's a reason why we used yellow lights for decades but leave it to modern anything to try and reinvent the wheel for no good reason and make it worse. Many such cases
Honestly so true, what of pisses me off as well is the fact that they don't sell incandescent light bulbs anymore (atleast where I checked), LED lights are good, sure but they're not cozy.
There are some streets in my city that still have those cozy amber streetlamps and gosh they're so much better... makes getting back home on a rainy day much more bearable.
Streetlights and car headlights, another victim of enshittification!

You can say that again, enshittifcation be hitting every possible thing it can these days. Also yeah my town has had these HUGE light posts all over it that allow people who walk or drive at night to still have visibility.. for years the lights were orange, and a few years ago they switched all the bulbs to LED ones. The bright side is more visibility at night, downside is coziness like you said. Luckily they aren't so bright they blind you unlike LED headlights, but tbh nothing in my town is how I remember it when I was a kid and sometimes I barely recognize the place

I really think it was better when they used halogen lights (the yellow ones). Not only were they more aesthetically pleasing, they were also calmer and less disturbing to the eyes. In fact, blue and white light prevent human from sleeping.
The only place I agree with these lights is in the motorway tunnels, so as not to stimulate sleep.

I agree, I mean the technology was always there we could've had super bright headlights in the 80s.. and in the 2000s it even became a trend in the car community to have bright and or colored headlights, but there's a reason factory cars never did it - it puts stress on the eyes and can temporarily blind people when driving at night. No idea why modern cars do it, it's literally just companies pissing on tradition for the sake of it even though tradition in this case made logical sense. Same with electric cars, just changing stuff for the sake of changing stuff without even considering if it's a good idea. Thus is the way companies operate now.

To add to Possum's comment, I'm thinking that car companies are adding super bright LED headlights just because they're harder to repair. You used to be able to simply replace the light bulb in the headlight, nowadays you have to replace the whole headlight component. Sure they go bad less often, but a $15 fix is now hundreds of dollars. Same goes with electric vehicles (and their whole shitty dashboard where everything is done through the huge touchscreen), mechanically they're the easiest to fix and to work on, it's just that everything is proprietary nowadays so that local mechanics can't work on it, increasing corporate profits.
