Friendship evolutions in Pokémon are genuinely terrible

I hate friendship evos in Pokemon, IDK why they're even in the games. Same with Trade evos, but Friendship evos suck just a little more. God forbid you want to use an Espeon in Crystal, if you want it you need to carry around a weak ass Eevee around for hours and cut it's hair bald while never losing a battle with it just to increase it's Friendship by a little bit. It's genuinely terrible, and that's just with Eevee, because at the very least it's usable before evolving. What if you got bad luck with the Odd Egg and get like a Pichu or Cleffa. You gotta deal with Unusable level 5 slot wasters for god knows how long just to get another barely usable pokemon that you need a stone to evolve. Keep in mind, you gotta get a girl's phone number for a chance at a thunder stone, and the earliest moon stone in my memory is unavailable until you get surf. I hope one day game freak gets rid of this, it is the worst type of way to evolve pokemon.
