Why People Are Different

I’m really into human nature and body language. I wouldn’t say I’ve read a lot of books, but I do my own research when something actually catches my attention. One of the things that really pulled me in was how different people are, not just on the surface, but in how they think, react, and move through the world.

I read Surrounded by Idiots and Surrounded by Psychopaths by Thomas Erikson, and honestly, it was interesting how simply he breaks people down. The color personalities especially made things click for me.

Reds are driven, loud, dominant — they want control and results.

Yellows are social, expressive, emotional, and live off attention and energy.

Greens are calm, patient, and hate conflict more than anything.

Blues are logical, detail-oriented, and lowkey perfectionists.

What made it fun is realizing you never meet a “pure” type. People are always a mix, and that’s where things get messy — and interesting. The way a red talks to a green, or a yellow stresses out a blue, explains so much about daily misunderstandings.

That’s why the topic why people are different matters to me. It’s not just personality labels, it’s patterns. Once you start noticing them in body language, tone, reactions — you can’t unsee it.

And I think the point of all this isn’t to label people or act smarter than everyone else. It’s about learning how to deal with personalities that are different from ours. Not everyone thinks the way we do, reacts the way we do, or communicates the way we do — and that doesn’t make them stupid.

If we were more aware of these differences, we’d stop seeing people as annoying or dumb and start seeing them as different. Different wiring, different priorities, different ways of surviving the world. And honestly, that awareness alone can save a lot of unnecessary tension.
