Like, I don't mean hating music in general. I mean hating on artists just because they don't suit a certain style or rhetoric you want to stick to. I don't really understand why people don't just listen to music that makes them happy, or dance, or put them in a good mood. Like some girls I know hate on alternative music because it's associated with "weird people" or general social outcasts. Outkast btw is one of my favs. Or, people don't listen to some music genres and even publically shame them because they want to fit in with a certain group. I know it's part of human nature to try to fit in but it's not really a neccesity in a world that now thrives on diversity. For instance, I love listening to Imagine Dragons and Owl City. Sure, I get made fun of for it, but I love it! The music part, not the bullying part lol >.<. It makes me happy, and I think everyone should do orlisten to what makes them happy, except like illegal stuff obvi. Anyways, that's my 2 cents :)
How do people actually hate some music?

i totally get this i prob need to work on shifting my mentality toward this LOL. i still lightly make fun of swifties because taylor swift is the musical equivalent of boiled, unseasoned chicken to my ears...
my only actual issue is when people fangirl/fanboy over some artist (the person, not the music) who's like a terrible person and refuse to hear out anything unfortunate that they've done. like i love lana del rey but girly is part of a hateful megachurch; i don't necessarily think that she's the greatest most angelic person in the world, and i can still listen to her music chronically bc it brings me joy.
I get that lol, some fan bases can be so extreme. And sure yeah, some music artists are problematic which sucks because I'd like to support them but it's a tough decision sometimes :/
