12/15/2025 - adventure time stuff

Around the end of november I randomly decided I was finally gonna watch Adventure Time start to finish and do it before the end of the year.

Surprisingly, it's going pretty well. Maybe it's because I've binged longer shows since the last time I tried watching AT but I'm getting through it pretty fast. Im at the tail end of season 5 right now, and I'm watching roughly 13 episodes a day since these two seasons are so long. I'm actually not too far off from the farthest I ever got (around season 6).

My thoughts on the show so far(SPOILERS)-

Season 5's been kinda meh for me. The first half was enjoyable since I had a dvd of it growing up and it was pretty nostalgic rewatching those episodes. I've watched them like a thousand times as a kid so I was kinda surprised by how much I forgot. Past that I was kinda bored a lot. The filler episodes were okay and the mini breakup arc was. uncomfortable :')

Season 3 has definitely been my favorite so far, there were a ton of episodes that made me laugh. The only thing I didnt like about it was the Too Young episode since the whole Finn having a crush on PB thing is physically painful to watch. I've been keeping track of my favorite episode from each season and it was really hard choosing just one episode from this season(I ended up picking Hitman).

What has been surprising is how my opinions on some of the characters/episodes have changed. I really, REALLY hated Jake through season one and two. I guess I never realized how much he screws Finn over in the early episodes and he just got on my nerves constantly lol. I like him now and all, but it was really surprising. The last time I watched season one was like a year ago and he's never really bothered me before. Maybe I've changed a lot in that time. Tree Trunks has also been pissing me off, except I still don't like her.

I looooove Peppermint Butler, I hope he gets more episodes.

Anyways. I'm pretty excited to watch the episodes I haven't seen yet. I'm also holding off on watching Distant Lands until after I finish the main show, so I'm SUPER excited to get to those. I remember really loving all the episodes when they first came out- except for Wizard City since I never actually watched it.
