╰┈➤ HELLO!!!! I've been on a bit of a hiatus due to personal issues, buutt i'm going to try and commit some more time to maintaining this blog!

I did not anticipate how stressful the switch from junior high to high school would be; the introduction of so many new people, on top of the fact that I struggle with making friends in person, really threw me off. Due to this, I suffered a major mental decline in early September. Starting off in my new school, I genuinely had no friends (all of my previous ones from 8th grade moved, went to vocational schools, or made new friends and they're too cool for me now). This made me really sad. Eventually, I had to stay at my local psych ward for about two weeks. Upon returning, I found nothing had significantly changed, but I gained access to a therapist both in and outside of school! Bouncing back from my absence academically was hard, but it forced me to overcome one of my biggest fears- asking teachers for help in class! My math teacher was very helpful, and I realized that asking for help doesn't make me dumb, and nobody was judging me because everyone is busy worrying about themselves.

Was the psych ward a good or bad thing for me?
I personally think it benefited me because afterwards I was able to gradually make it through school days like a normal, functioning person when previously I'd have breakdowns in class and be essentially non-responsive due to anxiety.

Have things improved in my social life?
Very fortunately, yes!!!! I reconnected with my old friend, and we're closer than ever! I also have 3 friends in some of my classes who are decently easy to interact with, and they are very sweet!

Have I made a full comeback with my grades?
Unfortunately, no :( !!! I'm not passing gym because it's a combined class with about 20 juniors and 20 freshmen, and I cannot function properly in a room with that many people for an entire hour, no breaks. Contrary to what you might think when I say I'm failing gym, I enjoy sports! Outside of school, I play volleyball, I run, and I occasionally skate! My gym class is unfortunately focused on a lot of activities where one person demonstrates an exercise in front of the class for 40 minutes straight (more than half the class), and I freeze up, becoming non-responsive as I was earlier in the year. This is such a scary feeling that it's easier to sit out; no matter how hard I try to explain this, I'm dismissed by my teacher. I'm working with my psychologist and school to come up with an alternative!

That's alllll!!!!!!!!!! Thank you so much for reading!!! Please stay tuned because my next post will be tips and tricks for making your freshman year as successful as possible and avoiding the issues I ran into!!!!
Stay happy, healthy, and lovely! Forever love, Aubs! :3 ⸝⸝.ᐟ⋆
