gosh i haven't been on here in so long..... I feel like its been forever. Anywaayyyyys, its currently the day before my AP World History exam and i just started "studying" like 50 minutes ago(A.K.A. i started doing Heimler's study guide and realized that would take too long so i ended up reading a comic the last 20 minutes, oops), and now i've decided to go over the chapters for the possible short LEQ(we only need to do the introduction para and the first body para) -> this because teachers have to make their exams take 90 minutes except that my teacher made the MCQ portion 70 minutes so we only get 20 minutes to do the LEQ since a lot of people in my class suck as SAQs and we haven't gotten feedback on our DBQs yet.
P.S. I rambled too much and it's taking time away from studying.... oops again...
P.P.S. i don't think i'll get a bad grade though, i feel like i know most of the stuff, i don't usually do so well on contextualization so any last minute tips would be helpful...
P.P.P.S. sorry for any typos

omg i took ap world last year and i remember this stress so bad omg :( contextualization (for leqs and dbqs) is basically you "setting the stage" for whatever you're talking abt in the essay so like if ur essay was on like the impacts industrialization on a more global scale (like for example, in japan) in your contextualization you could talk abt how industrialization started in britian and then spread throughout the world so that would be whatever event lead up to and caused what you're writing about. Or you could also go the route of whats happening in other places in the world in the time period of the event your essay is on (for like industrialization in japan again you could talk about how industrialization is in russia and the US and then tie it back to japan)
the key for contextulization is to have a specific enough statement to get the point but not specific enough to be something you would use as evidence in your body paragraphs. so like if the contextulization for impacts of industrialization in japan you could mention how gender roles are changing but you wouldnt want to go into the specifics of it like womens gender roles in japan were changing from homemakers in rural areas to textile workers in urbanized cities. you really only need 2 sentences to get the point across but I would aim for 3-4 just to guarantee that you get the point! tbh just yap for a few sentences
anyways i hope this makes sense and is helpful :) as long as you know the material you're gonna do great on your exam !! good luck :D
