As much as I'd love that- they probably won't
I'm really a big fan of physical media and things in that older vibe- cds, mp3's, flip phones, digital cameras- i love them.
But it'll probably end up the same as last year when everyone was screaming ''2025 will be the new 2020!!'' Or ''bring back 2015 in 2025'' while it lasted like 2 weeks and mlst people dressed up like in 2020/2015 only to record tiktok and never went out like that.
And people won't throw their phones, laptops etc away to really feel like in 00s which is their point- maybe they're gonna buy a flip phone, mp3 or somthing like that but never actually use it. They'll just watch vids on instagram that are talking about it, not actually live that way.
So yep, that'd be pretty cool if it happend but it most likely will be just another trend that'll die in 2 weeks

i feel like digital cameras will def get more popular and mp3 players will get more recognition especially in communities where artists don't tend to use streaming platforms (cough cough visual kei bands) but yea everything else is gonna be performative. plus everyones parents cd and dvd players either got thrown out or is full of dust in their basement

I started collecting cds this august and now I've got about 6 that are mine and the rest I found it in the garage. I also found some headphones there that I'm using right now. Who would even put headphones in a garage anyways? I'm getting a discman for Christmas and I'm so excited to listen to my fave bands!!! :D
and I personally wouldn't want it to be a ''trend'' because trends come and go, if me and ,y friends are gonna switch to physical media it should be an almost forever thing.

Especially since I REALLY want to own a flip phone or a digital camera but I know that it will be wasted on the account that I'll be expected to use my normal phone for major things (but a girl can dream
)
I want to buy a digital camera when i'll have money and maybe it wouldnt be such a waste because photos on it would be cooler and more trashy than on my phone but ik that if i bought a flip phone i'd never use it simply bcs new ones are much more comfortable and no matter how much u want to bring flip phones back people will stil use them and theres nothing u can do abt t
