The secret of success ´ω`

Imagine this: you sit at your desk for only two hours a day and study for just one day, then you don’t touch your books again until the exams start. Yet, your grades come out high—not bad, right? Now, think about this: if someone like this were to study every day, consistently and efficiently, how much more successful could they be?

Studying isn’t just about sitting for hours; it’s about consistency, focus, and smart strategies. Spending a few hours each day, when used effectively, can make a huge difference over time. Breaking your study sessions into manageable chunks, reviewing regularly, and actively practicing what you’ve learned deepens your understanding, improves retention, and boosts your results.

If you’re truly committed to studying, it’s not right to compare yourself by asking, “Why am I not as good as someone else?” Your only competitor is yourself. You won’t live their future, and they won’t live yours; in education, everyone is responsible for their own learning. What matters is doing your best and doing it the right way.

Many students underestimate the power of daily study habits. Cramming intensively the night before an exam is not always the solution; what matters is taking small but deliberate steps every day. Over weeks and months, these small efforts accumulate, turning minor progress into major achievements.

So, think of your learning like a garden. Spending just a little effort might make a few flowers bloom, but daily care will make your whole garden flourish. Study smart, stay consistent, and watch your potential turn into real success.

You should use the well-known Cornell note-taking method! After studying a topic, taking notes according to this method can be very helpful. Whether you make it even more effective is up to you. Simply studying a topic once doesn’t make the information stick in your memory; reviewing is necessary. After applying this method, reading your notes during free time or at school can be very beneficial. You can even take a photo of your notes and check them during small spare moments!

It’s not just about taking notes; practicing a variety of question types is also important. After learning a topic, you should solve plenty of questions related to it and make use of online videos to reinforce your understanding.

What I have to say is this: there is one truth for being successful in your school life, and that is wanting it.

Thank you for this!! as a pre-med, it gets quite competitive and you get isolated without even knowing it! so sometimes studying consistently is the best way to stay above the water. I used to take Cornell Notes in my intro to psyc class and got around an A in every exam although the average was quite low, so yeah. Cornell Notes WORK!!

What does being successful in life mean to you?

Very well written! Feels nice to read.

I usually prioritise my energy, I will not be studying like crazy for subjects I don't care about and will not be useful for the field I'm interested in. This of course depends on the culture, but I don't see the use of studying for 10's and Cum Laude. If I just get a sufficient grade I'm fine with it. Of course I want study more and better for the subjects where I'm interested in. But I don't think my future employer is going to look at my grades for politics when I want to work at a plant research company.

Ty for your comment. I agree that everyone can have different views on success and different priorities. Focusing more on subjects related to your future goals makes a lot of sense. What i wanted to highlight is that consistent and mindful studying is a habit that can be beneficial in the long run, no matter the field. It’s all a personal choice

I was checking my blog and noticed that i hadn't answered the question, sorry. I believe that success nurtures our sense of pride. To me, success means feeling that my efforts have paid off, being able to take pride in myself and realizing that i am making progress, even if it is small.
