today sucks
anyways i ditched the TF2 layout for my aero fuertigo whatever but customized to gorillaz. im really happy with how it turned out. btw if u wanna learn code the best way is to find someones code that has the thing you want in your own and copy paste and tinker with it till you hit the jackpot. i did that and now i understand a bunch of html shit i couldnt grasp my head around when i was learning a couple years ago.
heres the look. hehe im happy that it gets such a clear look at murdoc
this gorillaz art is probably one of my faves because of the vibes and artsyle and everyone looks soooo damn fly. even noodles got that 2 kool 4 skool face. also put a couple blinkies down below too tho i plan to add even more.
and ofcourse the blog layout has changed heeheheheheheh,
its now glass beach themed, my beloved. my fav colors are red and cyan, and together its one badass combo. also love the vibe that the black gives. the red is more pinkish yeah but like still that deep rich color that i like. still bold. i will post this layout for others to use soon maybe. might have to fix this and that first tho cause im not 100% happy with it yet :v
btw background is by a deleted user on reddit, they incorporated the fanart on the right with the actual album cover. ill link it here as credit --> https://www.reddit.com/r/glassbeach/comments/j765rw/i_combined_uoxfordfuckingcommas_fan_art_with_the/
anywho onto todays listening, which isnt part of my jazz-rock journey, just part of my general plan to listen:
gave An Awesome Wave by alt-J a 3/10. (https://rateyourmusic.com/release/album/alt-j/an-awesome-wave/)
art pop, indietronica, indie pop, yknow its not a bad combo, i expected to be fine with it, but something about the vocals jsut tick the shit outta me. the tracks itself were also walking the tight rope of being boring and downright annoying. my RYM mutuals seem to enjoy it but nah, not for me. i think i didnt listen all the way to the end (missing about 3 minutes left) because youtube paused that shit for me and i never bothered to play it again (thx yt)
but hooooly shit the next one is incredible. The Ooz by King Krule. 10/10 !!!!!!!! (https://rateyourmusic.com/release/album/king-krule/the-ooz/)
ive already relistened to it, so im prettay sure that 10 will hold up for atleast a week. Art Rock, Trip Hop, Post-Punk, Jazz-Rock, Nu Jazz, Neo-Psychedelia, Experimental Rock. those are the pasted genres, and the ones highlighted are the ones that I fo sho love, so it seems like it was destined to win my heart someway or another. the atmosphere is rich, thick with feelings of solemnity and somberness, delicate in its usage of harsh sounds and soft guitar riffs. Theres a slight jazzy chaos in the midst of it all, keeping it fresh and exciting. its the kind of flare that every great album needs. The sax improves an already classy sound, added with that lo fi and soft drumming, specifically in tracks like The Cadet Leaps, The Ooz, and Midnight 01, and we got ourselves an absolute night-time vibe.
havent checked the lyrics since ive been listening while makign my spacehey profile but wow i was taken aback every once in a while, going like "DAMN shit this is gewddd yoooww" and grinning by myself because damn it feels good to find a gem. i bet id appreciate it deeper if i do find out what its trying to say. thats an activity for another time tho, cuz as promised from the previous blog, ill try sleeping earlier.
