Crazy; The Traits of Scientists and Surgeons

Crazy.
What defines 'crazy'?

Thinking of hurting people?
Being able to operate with only
a few hours of sleep for weeks?
Or, perhaps, acting without thinking?

But then again, they say 
that these are traits of
surgeons, heroes,
and great scientists -
they were still considered
crazy, though.
