John Cena Is NOT Done ★

Hey there, internet explorer! Welcome to Internet Ashtray, a place where I talk about anything I want for anyone to read. My name is Wendii and here are today's thoughts:

Okay look, let me just say... THERE IS NO WAY MY GOAT IS OFFICIALLY RETIRED. Not after that match... What do you mean he ends his 23 year old career by tapping out his final match?! 

Unfortunately, I didn't get to watch the actual full match because I don't have a peacock subscription (fuck you peacock) BUT I did see the clips that the official WWE social media accounts uploaded. As soon as I saw the caption "Cena Taps Out" my jaw DROPPED. I felt so many emotions at once, I didn't know if I felt sad or happy, possibly angry? I was just in utter disbelief.

 I kept hearing people say he tapped out with a smile... and God it broke my heart to see it for myself. In my heart, I really really REALLY hope he's going to have some kind of surprise redemption match but... his smile was more of an "I'm done" smile rather than a "This isn't over yet" smile.

The reason I say he's not done is because his motto is quite literally "Neve give up." I mean someone who's strongly associated with such a phrase ends his last match by giving up?! You expect me to believe he's gonna end it all like that?! I know Gunther had Cena in a chokehold but I thought he'd somehow worm his way out of it. I understand that the WWE storyline has to continue somehow and I suppose this was a way to pass it on to the new generation of wrestlers but I just... I don't know.

Speaking of Gunther... Good lord... If people didn't like him before they definitely don't like him now. I saw a video on Instagram of him being escorted out of the building where the match was held and people were just following him shouting profanities and such towards him.

As a wrestler by himself, I really do like him. He's got a great persona, he's super tough, and his entrance theme kicks all kinds of ass. But even I think the match should've gone to Cena. HIS LAST MATCH EVER. I CANNOT STRESS HOW IMPORTANT THIS WAS TO JUST ABOUT ALL WWE FANS. 

Well guess what? There's nothing you can do about it, loser.

I KNOW, I know... Okay? I'm just having a hard time accepting his defeat. 17 time world champion going out with such a disappointing loss? This is why I said I hope he has some kind of REAL last redemption... 

I'm starting to sound like a broken record but what else can I say?! 

Please, please, please! Lord, give my goat one more chance...

Seeing the audience's devastated faces only makes it feel so much worse and feel so much more real. I can't stop replaying the video in hopes that somehow the outcome changes but it never does. I really have nothing left to say besides this...
