She’s full again..
Bright white and hopeful..
Clawing at my window..
Boundless energy in an exhausted vessel..
Maybe she’s lonely?
Begging me to keep her company.
Maybe she’s afraid of the dark?
Pleading with me to keep the lights on.
Maybe she wants to be seen?
Asking me to admire and give her compliments.
I love her so deeply, keeping watch while I rest.
I open my curtains so she can see she’s not alone.
I leave on a night light to keep the darkness at bay.
I will gaze up at her for as long as my mortal body will allow.
And hope that she’ll be reassured and let me sleep.
Then I will dream of her while bathed in silvery light.
