Hi everyone! In my attempt to do something consistent every day I have decided that I will go forward with my plan for the daily song. In addition to telling you which song I chose for my profile each day, I think we'll also add something else that we did or plan to do that day!
Today's song: Saturn Missiles by Aesop Rock
Favorite lyric: "Never met a quiet storm that didn't grow into a choir of colliding horns that go 'click-click-clack!'"
I love this song so much. This line resonates with me specifically because of our identity and our strong association with tornadoes and weather events. I've been listening to a lot of "Skelethon" by Aesop Rock, which we might consider to be our favorite album by him right now. If you've never heard his music and you're a fan of hip-hop and impeccable lyricism, I HIGHLY recommend you check him out. He has incredible talent.
We also watched the movie "Tampopo" (1985) which is a Japanese comedy/western movie about a woman who is running a failing ramen shop, and she meets a trucker who is very enthusiastic about ramen and teaches her how to make her shop successful. It is also about food and how important and memorable it can be, how it is such a big part of culture and our lives as humans. The movie is around two hours, and I was glued to it the entire time. I really recommend it, fantastic watch with a lot of great moments.
Thank you for reading!
