Hi everyone! Honestly I’m not really sure how blogs work nor have I ever posted one but this is kind of just a rant about the holidays and religion??
I mean first off, I hate how people (mostly Christian’s) assume everyone celebrates Christmas. I’ve noticed this a lot more since I’ve changed my religion ( I am a Hellenic polytheist and also celebrate Yule because I am mainly German). I just think it’s so rude to assume people celebrate the same thing as you just because the majority of Americans celebrate Christmas. I don’t know if this goes for other countries though. If anyone else is from outside the US lmk.
Second, this is kind of the same thing but I hate how SOME Christians will act like everyone else is a Christian. It’s so weird, I think it’s especially prevalent in smaller towns (like the one I live in). It annoys me that all the teachers at my school talk about when they mention religion is Christian things like churches. In our town we literally have a Buddhist meditation center. We also have a few people who are Buddhist or who’s parents are Buddhist. We also have a few Jewish people, and I think there are 4 Muslim people in the school. I think it’s just so rude to assume everyone is Christian when so many people don’t follow that religion or don’t follow any religion at all? America is supposed to be like for everyone, but it always seems like it jsut caters towards a small group of people. Is this a stupid take or nah?
