Its not quirky, its not cool its depressing. Its gotten to the point where i'm almost afraid to go outside and see other people. It's the same with bedrotting, its not cool at all and its not your silly little tiktok trend. You guys scream and cry whenever you see someone who ACTUALLY bedrotted, with matted hair, food from weeks/months ago, dirty clothes, havent showered/brushed teeth in weeks/months and people SHAME them for it. Just because you had a long day and laid in bed for 5 hours and were fine the next day thats not bedrotting at all.
Along with those who struggle with BPD, MDD, ADHD, autism, bipolar, GAD, PTSD, ASPD and other stuff that genuinely drives people to end it because of how badly it can impact your life and social connection with others. People who say "i need me a girl with beautiful princess disorder!!!!!!" "i needa girl with bipolar!!" are the problem, because once they find out what people with actual bpd or bipolar or any illness in general, they lose their shit and call them crazy. "I need me an obsessive girl!!!" and then all they do is manipulate her or get scared when shes ACTUALLY stalking them and doing actual obsessive behavior and not the kind that they just made up in their head where they think obsessive just means a codependent girl who theyre just gonna manipulate.
Society only fits everything in their little picture of what should be and not what is. Being a "loser" or a "loner" isnt cool unless you're attractive and 90% of the time, theyre just larping as a loner and they're and extravert with a million friends. I get that you can't see how people are on the inside and you may feel lonely without being alone which is possible but thats not the people im talking about.
So instead of shaming these people or "roleplaying" as them how about actually help them and stop with the "we saw no signs!" because you did. You did and you ignored them because you're ignorant and self centered.
edit: only reply if you have at least 2nd grade reading comprehension because a lot of you clearly dont

hi sooo i suffer from bpd (medicated) and a variety of other mental illness, they romaniticize it because they have no motivation to get better or heal

The manipulation part is rarely ever talked about but it happens so often. The “I can fix them/I can make them worse” trend pisses me off especially. I used to have a girlfriend with that type of mindset who’d take advantage of my schizoaffective disorder, treating it as some weird fetish thing but when my psychosis got really bad she’d ignore me entirely. When we broke up she viewed me as nothing more but a gross loser even though she was one those “mental health matters!!1” people. Left me even more paranoid and with major trust issues but I know people would rather look at my illness first than actually bother to listen to me. The more demonized the disorder is, the more people get away with abusing them.

Fr fr, same thing is happening with nerds, I'm not saying that being a nerd is bad what I'm tryna say is that people will like a nerdy person untill they meet an actual nerdy person. Apparently to some people being nerdy means a handsome/beautiful person wearing glasses. Can someone please tell them the difference between an attractive person wearing glasses and an actuall nerd, just because someone wears glasses doesn't mean that they are a nerd.

I personally romanticize being a loser because wtf else am i going to do, be miserable? im going to be a loser no matter what so might as well accept it and make jokes when talking to women/men goes badly, or hang out with my loser friends and watch youtube, smoke weed, and play videogames. I still have a life and work two jobs so I'm not a USELESS loser. But socially- yeah. im a loser. the romanticizing part though is completely valid, thats shit that POS virgin plebians do

I've got depression, PTSD, and possibly a few others things. I don't personally find it something to romanticize as mental health is a really serious issue, but sometimes people who struggle use humor and romanticizing as coping strategies so I try not to judge others for that
I understand what you're trying to say, but how many people in this comment section am I going to have to reply to due to you guys making personal exceptions when the general statement doesn't apply to you?

I get the struggle, I live with similar shit I hate talking about. Me personally? If I like someone I don't care what's wrong with them, I won't romanticize their psychological disorders but I'll do whatever I can to help. I know this sounds lame as all hell but there isn't too much that can scare me, I might be fucked up but if I'm into someone chances are I'm not interested in manipulating them.
Again, exceptions without it applying to you. I understand what you're trying to say and that you want to help them and thats good. Im talking about majority of people who romanticize people with those issues and then cant handle or help them when they're actually in a relationship. So yes, this doesn't apply to you.

People who romaniisise these things are the same as those who treat SA and other forms of abuse as a joke. (See my blog about that). Sad,pathetic idiots with zero empathy. Some people think that any tragic or horrible thing is somehow romantic or exciting and adventurous. Not so for anyone who has actually experienced it. I recently saw someone posting about how much he would love to be kidnapped. I commented to tell him that for anyone who has actually experienced it (I have) it’s terrifying and traumatic. He didn’t reply to me.
That's horrible, im sorry that happened to you. It must feel super gross for people to romantize stalking and kidnapping. I hope you're doing better now

Thanks. The kidnapping was just the start of a twelve week long hellish experience for which I am still seeing a child psychologist due to the trauma it’s caused me. (I do actually have a six part series of blogs telling the full story but I give you fair warning that it includes details of abuse so that you can make an informed decision whether you want to read it or not). Since I moved to the UK with my mom my life has been better but my process of healing is far from complete.
And yes you are absolutely right. It really annoys me when anyone treats kidnapping, stalking,SA or any other abusive or traumatic experience as something to joke about. That’s why I challenged the idiot saying how much he would love to be kidnapped. If he ever got his wish he would change his mind in seconds.
