Hello again. Finals nearly killed me. Now would you all kill me if I asked you to watch a Beyblade AMV.
Magna-Fi was an an alt rock band from Las Vegas, active in the 00's. They are perhaps best known for contributing "All Hail Shadow" to the Shadow the Hedgehog video game soundtrack. So, think an edgier Crush 40. This song, "Who I Am", was actually intended to be the game's theme song, but got shelved and re-recorded for their 2nd album, Versechoruskillme (charming title).
As for many a 00s-10s kid, this AMV and others from the channel entranced me. Though I never dove deeper into the lovably edgy screamo/metalcore/electronic cross-section featured in these videos (maybe I should sometime), I still cherish several of these singles (Hoobastank, Avenged Sevenfold, Atreyu, Thirty Seconds to Mars, Escape the Fate, and good ol' Linkin Park).
Sometimes you just need to feel like Shadow. The lyrics are cliche but defiant and self-affirming. The instrumental is pure riffage. Badass, not much else to say. Interestingly, the AMV music track features a different guitar solo than what is on streaming services, perhaps the first version before being re-recorded?
