Black Cat Review: Ep. 1 - The Solitary Cat

Spoilers, obv.

Okay so the episode starts off strong with Creed and Train having an altercation, and then cutting to Train killing some sort of religious cult leader with military nuns?

But I absolutely love Sven, and the whole 'vision eye' thing having the drawback of making him weak is solid.

Absolutely can't get over how the new corrupt governor is named 'Lib Tyrant'. It's genuinely hilarious.

Also the introduction of Creed Diskenth being the gayest man on the planet Jesus Christ. He's so obsessed with the way Train kills people that he killed Train's girlfriend.

"Seems you scarred Train's pretty face. You know what comes next, right?" Then proceeds to KILL A MAN over a TINY ASS CUT this is the GAYEST CHARACTER IN EXISTENCE what the actual fuck.

What was I on when I was younger (I still love this anime and manga)

They really just came out the gate swinging.

So like the introduction of Chronos and everything is great but I don't remember them being a huge part of the storyline? Like I remember them less than the Apostles of the Stars (Creed's terrorist group)

Also all of the setup for Train being this like heartless evil killer assassin guy only for him to be the silliest goofiest guy for the rest of the series.

And then the nightmare Train has being his parents dead and then their faces being the people he's killed is great, 10/10, seems like something from a dnd campaign. Also I totally forgot that Train's backstory was that his parents were killed and the killer told him he can either die or learn to shoot and kill. And then he just never learned how not to kill.

Overall, good episode, silly guys, Sven learning what the Chronos numbers were at the end is funny, esp since some random pawn shop dude knows who they are. Solid introduction and hook to get you started on the rest of the series.
