What the Fuck happened to Punk

I had a lil convo with my good friend and fellow punk rocker at school and I haven't been able to stop thinking about it all day.

WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED TO PUNK????

I mean yea there are countless modern punk rock bands especially in NYC(where i reside), but the impact and meaning have been so diluted. A movement once so strong and impactful, demanding change to this fucked up world, and born from a place of need and genuine antipathy to the way things are has now turned into a performative aesthetic run by angsty Shmucks. It's a bit sad to come to the realization that punk will never be the same as the 70s-90s, but what can we do. That also raises the question of whether there will ever be a real life revival of punk as we once knew it to be. I'm talking music, attitude and politics! 

Who knows. For right now though all we can do is keep fucking rocking
