my day at college pt2

So today I went to college as usual. Nothing much happened at first, but I was about to screw up.

You see, I’m a smoker. I’ve been smoking since I was 15, and now when I get stressed or tired, I always need a cigarette to cool down. I was at the lecture, the doctor wasn’t saying anything I could even understand, so I thought I’d get out, smoke a cig, then come back. But no.

The moment I reached the door, the doctor called me, told me to get on stage with him, and asked why I wanted to leave. I told him I needed the bathroom real quick and that I’d be back as soon as possible. But of course, how could he let me leave? He started shouting, telling me I’m a failure, and that if I don’t like his lectures, I shouldn’t come in the first place.

So even though I was about to hit him in the face, I calmly told him again that I just needed the bathroom and I’d be back. As expected, no.

I was already angry, trying to keep myself as calm as possible. I turned to leave while he was still shouting, but as soon as I reached the door, the guard stopped me and told me I wasn’t allowed to go.

I calmly asked why. He said it was the rules. I know damn well I’m fully allowed to leave, so I asked him which rule exactly said that, and if he could show it to me. He went quiet for a moment, then said no and told me I had to go back. I refused again and told him if he wouldn’t show me the rule, I wouldn’t stay. I was still calm, even though I was boiling inside.

He then asked me to show him my ID. I asked why. He said he wanted proof that I was actually a student and didn’t just sneak in. I asked him why anyone would sneak into a law lecture if they didn’t belong there. He told me to give him my ID. I said no, and told him that if he thought I wasn’t from here, he could kick me out and we’d be done.

At that moment, another doctor who knows me (we’re close) came over. He asked what was happening, the guard explained, and the doctor lied for me, saying I have a medical problem and when I need the bathroom, I have to go. The guard looked at me, then told me to go.

I finally got my smoke.

Later that day, I saw that doctor again and thanked him for stepping in even though he didn’t have to. He said he knew that doctor, didn’t like him, and knew I wasn’t a troublemaker, so he helped me.

I don’t think I’ll ever go to that fucker’s lecture again.
