i personally think old technology was way better than new technology is now o-o yeah sure new technology has benefits but honestly its just boring
i hate the plain designs, the minimalism i just hate it -_- i didn’t experience all of the old technology ofc i wasn’t born at the time of peak technology but i still experienced stuff like windows 7, flip phones with whimsical designs and the peak of frutiger aero
i lowkey decided to switch to old tech, i recently bought an imac g4 and im absolutely in love (´ε` )♡ i also switched from streaming platforms to physical media, i got an ipod nano and started using my old dvds again and honestly it just feels better,, i can’t switch up completely cuz of non-supported services on old computers and phones but im definitely trying to reduce my usage of new stuff
and next summer break i wanna try to have a phone-free summr only using a flip phone, it definitely will be a challenge but im sure it will be the best summer ever!!
idk is it just me who feels like that about that topic?

i feel the same tbh.
i also want to move in that direction, but i still need to detach myself from some social media like instagram and tiktok.
even so, i’ve been slowly building a small old tech collection. for now it’s mostly consoles and handhelds — i have a ps2, two ds (a lite and a dsi) and a psp.
it feels nicer to interact with tech that actually has personality.

ur not alone! i made my own website and got a japanese flip phone to use when im sick of social media. i also started doing rss feeds to keep up with websites i like rather than just mindlessly scroll online. i have some cds, and while i dont listen to them as often it feels special when i do :) i think a balance of old and new tech that saps out the addictive, minimalist nature of modern commercial slop is good for u

I´m reading this at CRT monitor connected to old PC running windows 2000 on 256MB RAM. With k-meleon browser and legacy update it is possible but don´t think you can run youtube or something like that. I´m using windows 10 on my main PC and linux on my notebook and use this retro PC only for retro blowsing and playing CDs. And I was using old nokia for almost a year now. But I bought smartphone (cheapest from thrift store) bcs time when any bus or train arrive/departure is online now, sadly. And I already hate it. It need charge every day.

I grew up with Windows 7 (in school) as well, but I mostly used Windows Vista (at home), Windows XP (at my grandmothers) and Windows 2000 (at my aunts, I believe).
But not only that, I grew up on DVDs, Time Warner Cable/DirecTV, CRT technology, and more!
2 of my main TVs are from 1990 and 2006, both being CRTs, GE and Emerson. There is no doubt about it, they are more efficient and act way better than modern flat panel LCD technology.
My main computer is from 2012, A Dell Latitude E6420, running Windows 10, but customized as Windows 7, but soon I might replace it with a 2008-2009 era build running Windows Vista.
My main camera is from the 80s, being a Polaroid Sun 600 LMS. I love it, I got it for only $5. At least I am not an Instax user, even though I think Fujifilm's products are OK. I soon plan on using my Panasonic PV-A226 that takes VHS-C tapes from the 90s whenever I get more VHS-C tapes, and same thing when I get a charger for my Pentax Optio Z10 Digicam from 2007, and 35mm film for my Kodak Cameo MotorEX from the mid-90s.
I have a physical alarm clock I use as well, a GE 7-4624 from the late 80s, and occasionally my uncommon/rare Sony Watchman FD-C290 from 1992 (btw only picked up for $5, goes for $40-$70 online in eBay prices), it woke me up better than when I used an iPhone as an Alarm Clock.
I also have my little physical voice memo device, my Olympus Pearlcorder J300 that takes Microcassettes.
I also use a VCR from circa 1982 made by Magnavox, a Western Electric 500 Rotary Phone as that is the only phone I have, and even a Weather Radio like the Midland WR-120, my GE CB Radio, my Grundig Shortwave Radio, my 80s Boombox, my Portable RadioShack AM/FM Radio, using my PS3 (and soon Wii), my 3DS, Gameboy, Most of the computers I own, And a lot of other stuff.
Soon, I plan on getting a Trinitron, A CRT Computer Monitor, more PCs, maybe a file server, maybe even a modern Flip Phone or an older phone like the ZTE Cymbal T or the Samsung Galaxy S4 if I can find one, as well as a lot more older tech released between 1965-2015.
im so glad im not the only one:D i also wanna get a laptop which runs windows 7 just to get the nostalgic feelings again

If you wanna find a Windows 7 PC, I would suggest finding a PC released between October 22, 2009 and October 26, 2012 for best authenticity, especially with a Windows 7 sticker on it.
Computers around this time usually came with a Core i3/i5/i7 as most common, but other uncommon/rare ones include the Pentium Dual-Core, Core 2 Duo/Quad, or a Celeron, but it is strongly recommended you find one with a Core i5 or i7, and then install one of the following browsers including Firefox 115 ESR, Waterfox Classic, Pale Moon, or Supermium for best browsing, especially if the computer has over 4GB RAM.
If it has something else like Windows Vista, 8.1, or 10, I would burn a DVD or a USB Flash Drive with an OEM of Windows 7 and install it there. My computer is a Dell, so it needed a Dell OEM, but OEMs are optional. Most stuff you can find on the internet archive anyway.

Definitely, old tech really is much better. Everything had a specific purpose instead of everything in one. I will be trying to get my hand on a flip phone too, might reduce my screen time a LOT + it just is much cooler. And we might as well use it since it's already made and hard to recycle.
