Genuinely can we talk about how people can be so mean and evil on games?
Few weeks ago, I was playing Fortnite (delulu, a game with proximity chat). I was just playing normally until someone asked to team, I did the emote thing to squad up and that dude kills me. I’m not complaining about that, it’s how the game works, team or kill. But then instead of just sending me back to the lobby he start askings for my snap. I mentioned I was a minor and he said “I’m 14”, he’s clearly a grown man. At some point I tell him that I have a girlfriend and that I’m a lesbian, so he starts being homophic. When I die, he just says to someone in his room “she sounded like a man”.
I kinda laughed at him, but that was SO unnecessary??? It’s not even the first time, people run away or target me the second I open my mic because I’m a girl. I’ve seen a clip of two dudes killing someone after finding out she was a girl and saying horrible things.
It happens to boys too ofc not just girls, even to little kids (they shouldn’t play these games with voicechat but still). People are lowkey just mean. And it’s not even just Fortnite, most games are like this.
It’s SOOOOO annoying.

That's why I never play those kinds of games (online multiplayer or massively multiplayer games). I don't feel comfortable even when I play with a friend, because people are too toxic there. They spew hatred for no reason, and it's depressing.
People can be very mean for no reason...

And not just in online games :/
When I was post editing on Instagram in the MCU/DC fandom, I felt like I was seeing drama every day with problematic people who thought they could do whatever they wanted because they had a lot of followers or whatever other excuse :/ That's what was holding me back from role-playing; I was afraid of encountering dishonest people.

Unfortunately, I saw that happen. I ended up deactivating my account, which I used to share my creations (even though they were appreciated). I couldn't stay in that environment anymore, where I felt that at the slightest misstep, people would shame you :/

makes sense, i really like fortnite so i play it. it just makes me so mad seeing these people
