Telegram is a private messaging service, and it has all the benefits and problems that come with total privacy.
There are many normal users and regular groups, but it's also quite easy to find the sources of all controversies, like groups used to sell illegal stuff, or probably even more groups centered around money laundering.
Does this mean that Telegram is the worst case compared to other services? Probably no, as far as I know, sometimes Discord is no better in that regard.
thanks for the comment! imo discord really isn't much better, if we take csam as an example, in all my years of using telegram i've never seen any bots with csam straight on their damn pfp, along with straight links to the content. plus, while there are definitely a ton of tg groups for substances and other stuff, if they get reported then telegram in most cases deletes the whole channel along with the messages and bans the admin, not just delete their acc and leave the message as it is. i'd say both have plenty of issues, so i was curious about the prejudice telegram is getting

idk how you use telegram but i havent seen any normal use of telegram, its always skids crackers or other illegal activity ppl drop their telegram link.
well telegram is nearly the only messenger i use as someone from belarus, and while illegal stuff does exist here i wouldn't say it's much worse than like big discord servers these days :') thanks for sharing!
