AB inspired satin makeup base on brown skin

hi! this is a post detailing my current makeup routine. I have a medium skintone thats warm-neutral with a gold undertone. i also have a dryer skin type.

these are all with no filters, although the resolution isnt the highest it could be. as you can tell, I do not have that many blemishes, however i've tested this same routine on my mom and it worked pretty well so i believe it should be easy to adapt for other skin types and get samey results.

PRODUCTS I USE:

* = Not Neccessary

(Moisturizer) - Any. I've used goldbond, b&bw, vaseline, facial moisturizer, etc. it honestly doesnt matter if it works lol
*(Primer) - Canmake Mermaid Skin Sunscreen. AB sunscreens can work very nicely as primer, but this one was kind of expensive for the size so if you can find a better one go use it. I don't go outside very much so I use sunscreen slowly.

(Foundation) - MissAOA Perfect BB Cream. I actually kind of hate full proper foundation sensory wise, so i usually use something like a skintint or bb cream. This one is very nice and incredibly affordable, it only cost about $1.88. However, it is slightly too warm for me lol
(Concealer) - TirTir Dual stick. It's about $12 on yesstyle, maybe less if you get it on sale. It can oxidize a little on some shades worse than others, but this is really good since one side is a concealer stick and the other is a liquid, you don't need multiple products.
(Powders)

*MissAOA Soft Touch Powder Foundation - use will be explained later but this is only because my finishing powder is slightly too light on me

*MissAOA Bronzer - for contour
Flower Knows Strawberry Cupid Finishing Powder in lavender - it nice, i like it, love it, the compact is to die for, but its not exactly my shade lololol if you want a simple life just use one that suits you..

(Blush)

does not matter, moreso it depends tbh. this routine can be done without blush entirely, but if you wear it i would apply liquid/creams after the concealer and powder blush after the foundation

okay enuf yapping. this is a pretty simple routine tho.

1. Moisturize your face, then apply your primer.

2. Next, i use the liqid side of my concealer with and place dots on the areas im concealing. my concealer matches my skintone, so i do not use it to brighten but instead cover my eyebags/hollows. You can probs tell by the picture but I have structural eyebags, so its literally just how my bones are shaped. Tbh I like them (they make me look like Itachi) but they can be lightened up with concealer and color corrector. I do not use color corrector but if you have a similar feature and want to lighten it, place a SMALL amount of concealer right along the line and let it sit for awhile, then blend it out upwards to the eye. You can also tilt your head to see where the shadows hit darkest under your eyes and apply it there. In my experience using thick amounts doesnt go well.

2.5. Wait for the concealer to set! I work on my eyebrows during this, so 1-2 minutes.

3. Blend out the concealer at the edges. I like to use my fingers or a kabuki brush. dap/pat pat pat, not swiping !! no swiping anywhere in this routine!!

4. foundation time ! dont use a lot.. liek literally only a dime sized amount for each quadrant of the face. unlike th concealer you dont need to wait and can blend immediately if you want. BUT DONT SWIPE!! dont even rub it in if you have blush/concealer underneatht the same area. just go dap dap dap with the finger or a brush and stipple it out.

5. this is the fun part for me.. finishing powder. I take my flower knows powder and set down my whole face. I use a bigger kabuki brush and focus most of it on my undereyes and forehead.. whereever u want the face to be the lightest. every other area like the temples and jaw will just be set by having the product brushed out towards those areas, not directly applied. dont apply TOO much i have gotten flashback before lol

6. Taking a big feathery brush.. something like this and get a light amount of powder foundation on it. the color should basically be your neck/skintone. What you want to do is lightly dust the powder foundation onto the edges of your face, not much further than you temples. What this does is warm the rest of the face back up because of the finishing powder being so light/brightening. The fluffy fluffy brush will "airbrush" it onto your face and blend everything together. just start with a light amount and slowly build up but really you only need to do 1-2 rounds with it.

7. contour! I prefer to contour under my chin, and around the edge of my jawline to make my face more heart shaped. this isnt needed but if you want a more dramatic look then yes. I do not contour on my cheeks/nose/front of face. at most the hairline. be carefull to blend out the edges going towards the neck though, so it doesnt look like dirt got smeared on you. In general, accentuate where the dark shadows already fall. this can change if you have your hair up or down, or if you are wearing a hat or something.

example of how it stayed after a long dayhttps://imgur.com/lunapic-edit-C8sy4wg

this is just a base routine.. the products dont really matter as much as the technique. I kind of want to make a video cuz that would explain it more.. but this is it for now.

i dont normally post my face online, but i want to talk about makeup and hair and stuff especially because im into jfashion and things like that so theres not a lot of hair and makeup content for other black people.

anyway, hope this helps somebody
