It's only a matter of time till it hits the rest of the world. 20 years ago or even just a little bit further, we didn't really have this issue but the difference is that we didn't have as many social medias as we have today. Anything from Twitter, blue sky, Facebook, MySpace, Discord, Tumblr, I mean the list goes on of what we can use these days. The issue is is that kids are everywhere on the internet and there's nothing we can do about it.
Parents don't want to govern their own children's devices and watch where they're going and allowing children to be anywhere and everywhere. It's right up there with Roblox. If the site gets shut down in the entire game goes offline, there's a bunch of teenagers and kids that are going absolutely batshit crazy over this. It's because nobody's paying attention to these children.
I'm not saying I'm for teenagers being kicked off the internet or against it, what I'm saying is that there are parents out there that don't do anything to even pay attention to where their children are going on the internet. So many parents out there just think it's okay and let their children run rampant without even paying attention. No internet etiquette, no child safety, but the minute that people start suggesting to give each other IDs to go into websites people are like absolutely fucking not. So then what's your solution?
I'm not saying that I want to give my ID to websites, but I'm not seeing any other solution when in reality there's nothing you can do. I would love to be able to get on discord and be with a bunch of other adults only just chat about whatever. I would love to be able to get on VR chat and go into public lobbies with fellow adults, but we have to make private instances and private discords in order to even remotely talk to each other. The amount of times I've gotten into a big discord and people have to tell me this is a 13 plus discord watch what you say.
I used to be in this one Discord where if I got into the voice chat a mod with a stick up her ass would get on every single time and have to tell you remember everybody this is a 13 plus Discord watch what you say! I got so sick of her and everybody was so sick of her. She's probably still a mod there too I wouldn't doubt it.
But let me just point this out, to those of you out there who are complaining about laws and rules like this you need to remember who caused the problems. I don't blame the teenagers, I blame the parents. You're the reason because you don't govern what's going on in your child's life.
Like I said, I don't want to give my ID or any type of information to a website any more than anybody else but you find me another solution to fix this and I'm willing to listen.

They're are too many failing parents, I refuse to co-parent for the rest of the world. The ineptitude of parents shouldn't be held against society
My brother is a prime example of doing it right. He didn't let his eldest have a phone till she was 16

Drastic times require drastic measures. Sometimes it's harsh but necessary. Times have changes so much and for the worst unfortunately. I respect any parent who at least tries to put their foot down and actually raise their child in the best way possible given their circumstances. No one is perfect and not everyone is going to be an upright individual yet we must carry out the duty of parenting, guiding and teaching, with utmost integrity. After all lives actually really depends on it.
Look at what Australia did, an entire nation banning Social Media apps for teens below 16.. sounds alarming, but hey, the state of the world is also alarming..

Oh yeah I remember those
real throwback..some might not even recognize it. How times have changed huh?
Indeed, this is a complex topic and I'd just like to add, to what I have already stayed above, that I'm not against kids indulging in technology, in fact I am pro tech. Children need to ne exposed from an early age to tech ; this is because we cannot deny the fact that tech practically runs the world. Although I also must stress , the vast differences in approaches to what may come off as contradictory statements.
Allow me to give you a realistic example of what I am saying. In China, a child in elementary (can) develop tech skills such as coding, from this early age because the system recognizes the importance of such roles in a modern world, this to be competent it is only prudent we instil such aspirations or knowledge unto the upcoming generation. I read an article about how even the algorithms are set to expose children to only educational content on their socials. These tactics are only positive, attributing to growth, development, competence and professionalism for their society. It is easy to see how advanced modern Chinese society is compared to many western and EU nations, solely because of their advancement in tech. This also leaks into other aspects like entertainment and politics.
While on the other hand we see a very dark contrast of this scenario where countries like the USA the average student is struggling to even perform at their basic academic curriculum, yet they are in every social media app, twerking, doing drugs, displaying abhorrent behaviours and sickening trends each worst than the prior. There's absolutely no need, no reason for a teen to have "social media" to be ridiculing themselves into the internet. These deplorable conditions are the reasons why many are now simply going to the extreme of saying, no more compromising with youths that clearly reveal they have no positive intention to use tech.

It's all about balance. A lot of my friends dont even use most social media anymore because of the constant negativity. It's funny too because when I talk to my generation, the millennials or even Gen Z, most of them are chill. They know what they want, they know how they want it, and so on, and know that complaining isn't going to solve a thing.
On the other hand, when you talk to any Gen X or Boomer, they will lose their minds about everything. God forbid you try to explain, "Look, what is going on in the world right now doesn't matter to you because you haven't changed your routine in nearly 20 years. What's going to change now? Nothing." My sister is of this notion too, which is funny as hell.
Both my sisters gave their kids tablets, all of their kids can't go 20 minutes without a screen unless they are heavily distracted. I wouldn't be surprised if I heard that the later Gen Z and now Gen Alphas can't even ride a bike...

Lolz sad indeed but point in case. These cases are far and wide, they are not even remotely isolated.
