why is minecraft friend inviting actually so annoying

i had to like- spend 2 hours finding my public IP, coding a startup thing in my FILES for java, and i spent TWO. FUCKING. HOURS. i just wanted to play java with my friend, and we couldnt today because of a fail direct connection. 

i think its working now but holy hell i couldnt even play bc of needing to make a whole new server with coding inside the stupid files thing on my pc.. >:C
