I had come here to look for a nice space free of social media toxicity after I had deleted every other social media app but it seems like the degeneracy of the modern Internet is creeping in here too and honestly I don't that a person like me fits in with the people on here, especially as a traditional-esque catholic (not necessarily an issue with queer people, but rather the sex-positive norms of the modern world)
not to mention feeling ugly, awkward, and just all-around out of place no matter where I go among people my age.
i've also seen people be chased off here for opinions and so that factor makes me rather uncomfortable too
like I always say honesty is the best policy
with all this in mind I wanna know your thoughts

you'll probably only ever feel you fit in with segments of social media sites, communities within them, then the social media a a whole, when it's small enough to be a community overall. well, maybe there are some that are more traditional, don't know of any though.

if you really think it’s best for your psyche/mental state to take a step back, then you should go for it!! but i don’t think you need to delete your whole account because of differing viewpoints from other users. this site doesn’t really have an algorithm or anything so curating your space is up to you. if you see something you don’t agree with, you can always just block or ignore it!! as someone who also doesn’t fit into any neatly defined spaces either, i totally get your grievances. it’s hard feeling like an outsider even in a space meant for those wanting an alternative to popular platforms. but your life is your own!! meaning you don’t have to let the trivial frittering of randos on the internet bog you down. personally though i hope you stick around :)
