okay so tbf, I do like will ospreay to a degree. He is a very, very, very good professional wrestler who wrestles a style that doesn't resonate with me. Two of my favorite matches was him against Swerve Strickland [aaauaggahshshdhdjndjssb swerveeeeee] at forbidden door and him against MJF [auagagshsjsjabbqbahahdhd fuuuuuck MJFFFFFF], and I thought thodse two were really great. He just, idk, sometimes hes just a bit much. Doing more moves than what's needed. Not always selling, or having much pyschology. However, to balance him out, we have one of the best wrestlers oat in Roderick Strong! So this was gonna be a good one, regardless of how much will ospreay decides to will ospreay. This is also the perfect lay-up in terms of booking: Roderick is the heel champ with his henchmen, Ospreay the super-over babyface challenger, and a rlly hot crowd.

Annnd, it was pretty good! All things considered, it was a fun match. The match starts out very quick and pace doesn't really falter from there. Roderick Strong had his goons with him and they tried to play spoil sport to Ospreays championship hopes, to no avail. Eventually Roderick gets the upper hand and works the back like only he can, but it just.. doesn't hit the same when its will. He just like, doesn't sell. Its annoying because of how good the rest of his game is, and I know he can sell! He can do it, he just doesn't for whatever reason. 

Lame.

Anyways ospreay makes his comeback, and this is where the match really sings. Ospreay is really dynamic as a babyface, of course, the moves hes does are super duper rad. The sequence of moves into the styles clash is perhaps the smoothest sequence ive seen in a Roderick Strong match, in close competition with one of the sequences from KOR/Roddy and some others from this match. Ospreays just soooo good. Unfortunately, nothing seems to be able to beat Roddy.. until big mean old baldy don calls gets in wills ear to hit the TIGA DRIVAAAA. Will goes mad, he looks like hes about to do it, and crack Roddy's neck.. but he can't bring himself to! What a meanie. This nearly costs him the match, but he comes good and absolutely demolishes Will with the hidden blade, + the stormbreaker to win. 

Not my favorite will ospreay match [Swerve, MJF, & Orange Cassidy say hello] but definitely a good one. Not a bad showing for Roddy either, his last bout as a singles champion it seems.
