stranger things season 5- rant & SPOILERS

SPOILERS AHEAD ⚑ ⚑ ⚑

NOTE: alright i literally have grown up with this show so yes im a little devasted that we are at the end. just finished the first half of season 5 and holyyyy I gotta lot to say

this will be very messy and unorganized so please beware

🠊 CURRENT FAVORITES: Will (the number 1)(as expected)(same old same old), Dustin (despite him changing a lot), Robin, Nancy, Murray, Joyce and Hopper (especially together)

🠊 DUSTIN IN SEASON 5: I've seen TOO MUCH SHADE FROM FANS TO DUSTIN THIS SEASON. Yes he's being distant and a bit of an asshole but guys he literally went through shit!!! I understand (and I myself love) his dynamic with Steve. Steve and Dustin are one of the greatest pairings in the show so yes it hurts to see them grow distant. But guys!!!!! At least when other characters have lost someone, they have been basically honored by the town (or had their memory respected). 

Hopper "dying" --> he's regarded as a hero in town. Barbra dead/missing --> there's still hope for her, and when she is declared dead, she is honored. Countless other examples HOWEVER Dustin has been constantly reminded of how Hawkins views Eddie, as a monster. He cant even honor his gravestone, its constantly graffitied. He can't openly mourn or honor Eddie so its not a shock that he's becoming distant to the group, because it kind of seems like they have moved on as well. But DUSTIN had to watch him die. DUSTIN was the closest to him.

So no, I'm not really shocked that he's turning into a distant, annoyed, counter-culture guy. It honestly makes me love him more, because he seriously is suffering. SO NO DUSTIN SLANDER THANK YOUUUUU

🠊 HONORABLE CHARACTER MENTIONS: Lucas and Max (I want these two to get so much more screentime, I think that would bump them up to the favs), Steve (he's pissing me off a little this season), Jonathan (again, used to LOVEEE him but hes making me angry rn), I guess Eleven idk. 

🠊 CHARACTERS I'M NOT A FAN OF: It rhymes with Smike Smheeler. I especially don't like him and Eleven together NOT FOR BYLER REASONS IM NOT ABOUT THAT...  I've never been a big fan of Mike, he's had some moments but overall... eh... 

🠊 ELEVEN & MIKE: Actually lets unpack that statement above, I prefer Eleven when shes not tied to a romance. I understand the whole POINT of her and Mike but like seriously... sometimes Mike doesn't appreciate her and what I've always felt is more important is her relationship with hopper. especially as someone whose been used over and over again by Papa, someone who had to learn to trust, and someone who especially needed a parent, Hopper (AND JOYCE) are seriously the best pairing for her. sure throw a romance in there I guess but like??? I'm much more interested in her found family dynamic rather than her and mike. 

🠊 BEST NEW PAIRING: Will and Robin OMGGG I was screaming every second they were on screen. I've been WAITINGGGGG for these two to interact and bond over being hopeless gays I'm so serious... like Will needs Robin so bad she's like the perfect counterpart to him. It literally hurts me in my GUT that Will liking Mike is one-sided. Will LITERALLLY has never had his own counterpart, like I feel like every character has had their counterpart except for him. Steve and Dustin, Lucas and Max, Mike and El, Joyce and Hopper, Jonathan and Nancy. Literally everyone except for him. Which is crazy because he's the one who needs it the most!!! Even after all this shit he's going through he tends to get ignored by the group and I needed it in my SOUL for him to get someone to talk to (that wasn't family). 

🠊 JANCY VS. STANCY: Guys figure your shit out on god. I loved both Jonathan and Steve before this season, but the way they are acting is Lowkey pissing me tf off!!!For a longggg time I was dedicated to Jancy- I love Steve but I really liked him better in scenarios with friends than romantic partners (I just felt like at the time that is all he really needed).  But Jonathan's been having this downfall; he's becoming less and less likeable to the point where I just think Nancy would be better off forgetting the both of them and being independent. Nancy deserves better like cmon shes so cool </3

🠊 JUST YAPPING ABOUT ROBIN: Like what I seriously love most about Robin is her character progression. Maybe I'm reading farrrr too into it right now but I feel like the more comfortable shes gotten with the group the more yappy and awkward she gets. IDK I feel represented right now. Like relate so freaking hard to not knowing when to stop talking. This is kind of a personal callout, I don't know I just wanted to mention that ... anyways...

I'll probably add more to this later. AHHHH WE ARE SOOOO BACK
