Polka Dots can be described as a classic, playful pattern of evenly spaced, filled circles. Now that is the basic, logical description, but if you, as a person just look at polka dots as a pattern, that (the definition) is not what you are going to think in your mind. You're not going to see a gown dressed in a wide range of colorful polka dots and think of the technical description. You are going to describe the dress from the way you feel. From the way the dots make you feel.
That is what most people are missing when they describe fashion. They want to say the technical terms of an item of clothing, but that is not what people want or even care about. Fashion is all about the feeling of the clothing, it is about the story behind it all, not a technical term.
