I'd like to start by saying that physical medias are sooooo good and cancelling my Spotify subscription to go back to mp3 and CDs was lifechanging ! Not relying on my phone and algorithms for my music is awesome, like yaaaay I choose what I listen to and make my own playlists instead of asking the emotionless robot to do it for me xD
If you're thinking of going back to mp3, I'd recommend either you get an old Ipod (Ipod nano are the best, especially 3rd gen) or get a Innioasis Y1 which is basically an Ipod nano but not Apple and cheaper aaaaand has bluetooth :3
I still need to get a CD burner so I can put my silly little playlists on them and keep them in my car xD listening to CDs in the car in the big 2025 ? heck yes !
So yeah I HAD to make my first blog post about my amazing mp3 player that I use everyday !! I even use it at school, it somehow helps my ADHD calm down and my teachers are fine with it as long as it doesn't disturb anyone !!!
Also being able to just put my earplug(s) in at anytime and get in my lil bubble, safe in my head with my silly thoughts and my music whenever I want is really cool and helps with my autism and not feeling overwhelmed !

one thing ab ipod nanos is that their battery often expands with use! if you have an ipod nano and you see a black splotch in the middle of the screen, then it means the battery is expanding and pushing against the screen! <:O this means it could explode lol. so i would go for ipod classics instead of nanos bc they dont have this problem!

I own a modded ipod classic 5th gen (new battery and added storage)!! I'm also waiting for my sony walkman (mp3) player in the mail. I also have a cd + cassette collection, and my friends have gotten me into vinyl recently but it's so expensive, so I only own one atm.
Yeah that's a great choice, the 5th is easy to mod !

I agree!!!! I really love owning media, not renting, so downloading and having an offline device is as close as owning it as possible. I got a snow sky echo mini for christmas and just got it working a couple of hours ago, I really hope that more people do the same!

I always listen to the same music anyway so I don´t have a problem wiith skipping through songs not finding something fitting. But it bugged me that I have to pay for a subscription so I don´t get ads while listenting to music. In my opinion it´s too much money.

I bought an Ipod Classic 5 Generation. Especially because it´s easy to change the battery if it´s too old. I love to put the music on my Ipod via Itunes. Choosing album covers, adding infos etc.
What are your favorite songs right now? Do you have Rockbox on your Ipod and custom games?
Yeaaah having to pay to not get ads in the way while listening to music is really stupid, like sure I'm ok with paying for my music (to some extend) the way you buy CDs in shops but paying to not be bothered by ads ? hell naaaah I'll just pirated my music and use my silly lil ipod xD
I bought an Innioasis Y1, kinda like the ipod but it has a few more modern features and can read nearly any type of audio file so I can listen to my songs in lossless formats !!
That's really cool ! I'm looking at customizing an ipod myself but finding all the new parts takes a lot of time and money T-T so I figured I'd get the Innioasis Y1 for now and take the time to customize an ipod :3
I personally use Music Bee to manage my songs and change album covers etc
Oof idk it depends on the mood xD I've been listening to a lot of Jimmy Hendrix and Fleetwood Mac lately (I mean I started playing electric bass, those two artists have really cool basslines in their songs !!)
I use the main software from my mp3 box I know there's a Rockbox port for it, might try it at some point idk, the base software is really good x) I don't have any games tho x(

Wow it looks really pretty! I also have a MP3 and a CD collection. I still use apple music, but maybe I will try and only try to listen to my cd's. I have a cd burner and it's really easy to put the music on you mp3 :P
Yeah it's so cool ! I have a Hi-Fi CD player with two speakers xD I love burning my own CDs and playing them on it ! >0< I can also connect the mp3 to the Hi-Fi player so it's perfect to use both lol

Yeah same! I got a big collection of cd's from my father and I like most of them. I also go to thrift stores to get cd's and vinyls :P

dudeeee i just did this!!! my blank cds and burner r literally in the mail rn. i got an old ipod mini 2nd gen and flash modded it and have just been loading it up with mp3s i pirated. its literally the best thing ever. also ur ipod is so cute

I agree! Im obsessed with the early 2000s physical media and graphics. I love My iPod and dvds that i can watch from my tv and old white MacBook. I still have a iPhone 7 because i refuse to change to a newer one. Sadly Apple doesnt support it with the Ios tho. Sometimes I do think of getting a cell Phone but i just know that Its too hard since all my friends use modern tech and i need it for Many things :(
Yeah I miss watching dvds on tv xD I need to get a dvd player !

An mp3 player has been on my mind for so longg!! I'm still on Spotify and I have thousands of songs on it and I only like some. An mp3 player would be so much of hardwork but I'll probably understand my music sense extremely well when I'm done with the shift ヽ(⌐■_■)ノ♪♬
yeees ! it sure is hardwork to download everything and make your playlists by yourself but it's so rewarding in a way ^~^

Definitely try it!! First I thought the same. Making this much effort just to listen to music. But that´s what makes so much fun about it. Going through Youtube, maybe finding some old gems u listened to back then, dowloading. It makes so much fun!! And u can also add podcasts! A lot of podcasts have websites where u can download them for free!
I often download them to my Ipod and go for a walk. It´s so nice to just listen and not getting distracted by my phone. I just let it at home then.

just thinking about getting one, I've been looking into the ipod nano series and at first the 2nd gen caught my eye but when I saw the 4th gen that nearly took me out. it's unbelievable how much they fit in those things but I guess the battery issues is the trade off. but realistically the best nano is yours its just a bit too chunky for my taste. although you did make yours look very cute so I'm kinda reconsidering
Well if you want something small there's the ipod shuffle xD but this one doesn't have a lot of features
My Innioasis mp3 has a good battery life tbh, lasts like two days while using it the whole day lmao aaaaand it's very customizable and can read almost every audio file !! Love being able to listen to my songs in FLAC

Its a cheap knockoff from amazon, i havent even figured out how to get pics and vids on it, but the most important thing is the music
I love not needing wifi or data for music, and no ads, and unlimited skips, and having any song/audio on it, and not having 2 worry abt features being paywalled

Pandora can be useful for finding/remembering new music. You can build a channel around an artist that you like and it will include similar content. Then you can expand out to albums. The best part is it’s free.
