I realized just now that most people here on spacehay don't know about the absolute chaos that was the last 3 years of my game development journey, so here's the whole adventure in chronological order:
2023 - The Idea
I had the idea of making a new game inspired by Cube Escape and Umineko (during development the game lost most of its Umineko aspects, but I'm not bother by it), the game would be a mixture of both genres, Point and Click and Visual Novel, also, by the time I only made 2d games and wanted to start a 3d project but I knew it would be to much work, so I decided to make kinda of a 2.5d, the game would be 3d but all graphics would be 2d, for the players it'd just be a 2d game, but I'd have to work with 3d functions and shaders (there were more advantages of making a 2.5d game but it doesn't matter for now). I started developing the game in Unity and made the scene and a simple dialogue system.

2024 - The Betrayal
In 2024 Unity announced their change in the monetization system, and basically fucked all its game devs, including --> me :D <--, it'd be my first official release, and I didn't want my first selling game to be a servitude contract with Unity, since I didn't make much progress I decided to swallow the bullet and restart on a new game engine, but I was afraid that shit like that could happen with any game engine, so I decided to make it raw, only using C++ and a library called Raylib, and ignoring the mistakes I made, since I didn't know Raylib nor C++ but decided to make a whole ass game using only these, I got back to the same point I was on the Unity project.
You probably notice that this section doesn't have any pictures, that's because after almost 1 year trying to figure out Raylib, I gave up, there's a bunch of reasons why I gave up on Raylib, but it's a long history for another day, and I don't want to reinstall Raylib only to get some screenshots, so yeah, no pictures, but if you're curious I leaved the whole project public on my github.
By that time Unity realized their mistake and had gone back with the policy, so I decided to go back to Unity like a dog wagging its tail with no shame lol
2025 - I <3 Making my life miserable
You'd think that I'd just come back to the old project and continue from what I left, right? Well, I'd do that, if I had left something and didn't delete the whole Unity version for no reason at all :D.
Yeah, after some time redoing everything for the third time I'm back to making progress, until I decided that my dialogue system was "to simple" and I need a whole new system where everything is nodes that I convert to scriptable objects :D. Well, I saw a dialogue system tutorial on youtube, felt in love with it and decided to implement that, even thou I didn't have most of the necessary knowledge, and still, I thought it wouldn't take a lot of time HAHAHAHAHHAHA.
It took 5 months :D
Yeah, I didn't have time to dedicate 100% to the project, but still, it was a lot more time than I anticipated, and I just finished it last Friday, so FINALLY, after almost 3 years, I'm back to making progress...
Here's a bit of the system:

There are some things to adjust but its not the priority right now, so lets consider it finish for now, shall we? '^^
And the remade scene:

I decided to take the "opportunity" to make some adjustments on things I didn't like from the other 2 versions, that's why is so different.
Now I'm focused on replacing the placeholder art with the official one, so I'll take a break from coding and start breaking my whist drawing a bunch of sprites. So yeah, stay tuned for future updates, that I hope happens lol.
