i miss the 2010s

i often wonder how the 2010s will be remembered in the future. i know the current nostalgia surrounding that era but, will people truly remember? all the fun summers, all the memes, all the music, the culture of that time. will people truly appreciate it more?? will it be given the same praise as the 80s, 90s, etc? 

will people remember all the trends? that one snapchat filter that made your face look funny? that singer whose name no one could pronounce but we all still enjoyed them anyway? the days where we could go outside and genuinely enjoy being outside even if we were on our phones? the long conversations with our friends online or in person at a sleepover? 

the nights spent with loved ones doing nothing but just sitting around and breathing? fangirling over people who had not a clue in hell we existed and writing fanfics about them? the heartbreaks that felt like death in the moment but feel like lessons now? the silly crushes? the childhood that we didn't know we were making for ourselves? the memories? 

will people truly remember??
