Life gives you too much time and not nearly enough reasons to care. But thereโs one mortal invention Iโll actually bow my head to gaming.
Yeah, laugh if you want. A mysterious, creature of the night glued to a screen, whispering curses at lag and praising flawless combos.
Tragic. I know.
But hereโs the thing, games are one of the few worlds where the rules make sense.
You put in effort, you get rewarded.
You fail, you respawn.
You die? Wellโฆ death actually means something there.
Unlike real life, where you just keep going no matter how exhausted you are. In games, at least the grind feels fair.
Thereโs a strange comfort in slipping into those digital universes.
Slaying monsters that actually stay dead.
Exploring lands that donโt decay over centuries.
Meeting characters who donโt crumble into dust while you stay the same.
Plus, itโs one of the only places where Iโm not โVincent, the eternal wanderer of shadows.โ
Iโm just a gamer with questionable sleep habits... which is true, considering I barely sleep.
So yes, I love gaming.
Not because it distracts me from the burden of livingโฆ but because for a few hours, I get to feel something close to freedom.
If you ever see a username lurking in your lobby at 4 a.m. that feels a little too calm, a little too precise, and a little too ancientโฆ
Yeah. That might be me.
