I know this could just be a pixel resolution thing and maybe not an intentional addition but it looks as if N lowers his head in shame after Ghetsis berates him
Like the hat angle seems different and he even becomes completely unresponsive. Just standing there frozen
How I wish I had the courage to explain in depth about why I adore how he is written so much man

Sadly this is just a resolution thing. N only has three animations that aren't walking/idle in his spritesheet and lowering his head isn't one of them. It would've been super cool if it was though, I'm willing to bet we'll get something similar if Black and White are ever remade :)
Aw, I forgot about that. Little mannerisms like that would certainly add a new layer of depth to one of the more intricately written games of the franchise, after all it's the combination of small things that make us and characters develop their identity and story. Every time I see such details in media made for younger audiences it makes me happy. Childhood and adolescence is the time when people with an upbringing vaguely more or less like N's would absolutely need to feel seen and shown their circumstances from a viewpoint outside of what's immediately happening to them since that's when things get rooted, if that makes sense. Apologies for the crappy english and going on a rant about that here as a reply though lmao

Don't worry about it, I agree 100% :)
I wish they did more with the overworld sprites too. I get that there's only so much that GF could convey with 32x32 sprites and that creating completely new sprites is a lot harder than applying an animation to a 3D model, but it still would've been cool. That being said, while I think extra sprites could've enhanced some story moments, what we got was still really great.
