Today was a good lower body day!
I woke up late and went to the gym later than I would have liked but I had a good day at the gym :) Ran into my friend again today which was nice.
It's been about a month of consistently going to the gym, I feel so much stronger and fitter than when I started. Which was my goal.
I start the winter holidays soon, and I'm worried I won't be as consistent. Going to the gym every weekend has given me a good routine and let's me fully switch off any thoughts about uni work.
Being back at home stresses me out a bit because I don't get as much privacy and I can't do things at my own pace. Also, my home is a bit of a hoarder home, and the mess overwhelms me a lot.
I'm nervous to go home but also looking forward to seeing my friends and family.
Hopefully I'll be able to go to the gym more, since I'll have more time, but, I'll still aim to go twice a week.
Idk why I don't log what I do at the gym, so that's what I'm going to start doing now.
Warm up
5 mins on the stair master, 10 mins stretching
Muscle activation exercises:
x30 body weight squats
x30 fire hydrants
1 min plank
Workout
BSS x2 sets 10 reps, I started with a 5KG dumbbell but went up to 6KG
(also I think my left side is stronger than my right which is so weird cause I think I'm right foot dominant?)
RDLs x3 sets 10 reps, started with 6KGx2 dumbbells, but went up to 7KGx2
Hip thrusts x3 sets 12 reps, 7KG dumbbell
(I deffo could have gone higher but I hadn't tried this exercise before and idk it kinda hurt my back, but the part that was pressing against the bench. I'm not 100% sure I'll do that again. Also hip thrusts are so embarrassing, and my friend caught me mid-thrust ;-;)
Leg press machine 39KG x12 reps, 45KG x10 Reps, 52KG 6 reps (bruh it destroyed me)
Cool down: stretched for 10 mins and then went on a nature trail walk for about 30-40 mins
The sun was setting, it was a nice walk.
Moral? Consistency pays off, don't give up!

Planks are brutal. I recently changed mine to be longer and I seem to hit the wall and start shaking at a certain point. Incredible exercise but very intense.
