Normalcy versus hurting somebody

The problem is that the people that want normalcy so bad are the ones that are so scared of going out in public dress the way that they want. Two prime examples here:

1. Probably if I get bored enough I have tails. I make them from scratch and I sell them on my Etsy. They attach via a belt. So they sit on the back of your pants and they can sway back and forth if you're used to swaying your hips. A lot of times people love seeing them because I often wear a hoodie that goes with it and you can see the ears on top of my head. They look amazing. So people say I'm cute and adorable. Yes I'm 33 and I still wear all this and people love it. Sometimes I get made fun of but most often, people don't often care as long as I don't make a scene with it. Yes, I've gone pretty much anywhere you can think of wearing it.

This is a prime example of what is normal and what is harming a person. This is one of those situations in which if it doesn't hurt a person why do you care so much? The only reason people really care about normalcy is because they're afraid of what other people think and they don't want other people judging them based on that therefore the worst thing they're probably going to wear is a graphic t-shirt or hoodie.

2. Couple years back maybe two or three, there used to be a clown that walked around downtown where I live. Really nice guy. Got to talking to him. He played magic the gathering which is how I got to know him. He knew how to make balloon animals. Always wore face paint, genuinely a nice and funny guy. He also knew some really corny jokes that would make kids laugh, and he also had balloons on him to give kids balloon animals.

But this guy never got anything but a genuine laugh because he was a cool ass clown. No he didn't dress like a normal clown. He did wear like a bowtie and suspenders with a shirt or whatever, along with a flower, a hat and nose. He loved dressing like this. He said that he loved making people smile and that's what mattered.

Now, you have to think to yourself was this normal? Hell no it wasn't normal! But I don't care. A lot of people didn't care. People saw a clown and they thought oh my god that's fucking cool! But here's the thing, so many people once again like I said earlier they care about the normalcy because they think that it's weird. Is there a fair? Is it a carnival? What about a circus? Nope none of the above! Just some guy wanting to spread cheer and laughter.

Now if we compare these two things how does either of these affect society? They don't. Neither of them are harming in any way. At most you seeing two goofy guys wanting to be fun and interesting. But of course you're going to have those people who are deathly afraid of what other people think and instead they want to see the world be as boring as possible so you can't be different and when you are different you get made fun of. As if this is 10th grade or some shenanigans. If you're a grown adult and you want to wear something out in public that you've never worn, take a chance!
