how november went

Hi. I am more free than I expected to be. I honestly didn't do much this month but the week of the course I got put into. Overall, I like it. It's also a shorter one, that might or might not be a factor :P Obviously it's mandated service and I'm not SUPER enthused about it in the first place, but I'm glad I got one of the options I mind less. The people with me are nice, aside from one person who I don't really like, they're all cool for the most part.

Aside from the course, I mostly just watched this new hc season from various POVs and rewatched the life series. Also sketched a little, but nothing big that I really want to turn into a drawing. That being said, regarding the new hermitcraft season, I love it so much! First off, there's Decked Out 3!! And the ideas for it that Tango shared so far are so cool! But I also in general just love what a lot of people have got going for this season. Obviously my usual mains Cleo and Etho have super cool ideas, but I really like what Keralis, Grian, Ren, False, Gem, and Scar have got going for this season! And firefighter Pearl is awesome. Everyone has such cool ideas but I have so little time to watch all the POVs... Sad.

Anyways, vocal synths! Yay!

On the 4th, released Otobe Sapphire on Vocaloid6! Now her design is cool, but her being directly tied to an NFT project is... Meh. As for her voice, she sounds okay. Like, she really doesn't stand out. She's fine, just VERY basic in terms of vocaloids. She sounds kind of like a mix between Asa and Gumi.

On the 7th, released Soy for AINOW! This is a fairly new engine that I reviewed like, once before. Her design is fairly simple, but she's still very cute. I love the pink hair and how it matches the dramatic pink bowtie on her lower back. As for her voice, it's pretty soft with a slight nasal property- I like it! She's a cute vocal, nothing that stands out but I can see many production styles and pop genres where she'll work amazing.

On the 19th, release Aya and Kazuya! Both are vocaloid default vocals. Aya is advertised as a city pop type of vocal, and she does work well for it. She's a warm-ish, more mature vocal, which fits well typical city pop. I like her, she's a great default vocal. Kazuya is advertised as a melodic hardcore type of vocal. He's a pretty powerful vocal, I can see how he can be emotive with the proper tweaking. I like him! I'm always appreciative of more rock and metal vocals being added.

On the 20th, released Tomo for VoiSona talk! This is a TTS version of VoiSona, and she was released as a bundle with Chis-A. Tomo is obviously meant to look like a lab worker, since Chis-A is very much canonically a sentient AI. And I gotta say, I really like Chis-A's design for this voicebank. As for Tomo's voice, it's nice. Nothing out of the ordinary, but for TTS vocals it's fine. Basically, she's nice but I don't have much to say about her.

On the 21st, released Danny and Etta for synthesizer V! These are part of the default vocals. In the demo, he's described as a "warm and soulful tenor voice". And listening to the demo, yeah. He sounds very nice, I like him, and like mentioned in the demo he would work best for genres such as soul and RnB. However based on the usual flexibility of synthV, he can obviously be used for much more than just those two genres. Etta is described as a "powerful" and "mezzo-soprano" voice. yeah she is exactly that, she's nice. I think she would fit best more electronic genres. But obviously they're default vocals, they're not meant to be shockers or super impressive (although there are some unique vocals in the default series).

On the 27th, both Teto and Frimomen received their Synthesizer V 2 upgrades! To be expected, they sound the exact same, just with an overall quality improvement. They experienced no design changes, so nothing to add on that.

On the 30th, Muxin got a Synthesizer V 2 upgrade! This one however is a much bigger jump, as he jumped from a standard vocal to an AI one. And I gotta say? This upgrade is great. He sounds amazing. On a similar note, I gotta say- I am so happy that Quadimension found a way to bounce back from their bankruptcy. Their vocals are amazing, I love the entire MEDIUM5 lineup so much.

And that's it for November!! I'll see you in December!
