Birthday thoughts

Yesterday was my birthday and it was the first birthday where no grandparent called me because all of them have now passed on into the next realm. It was a good birthday. I had a delicious chocolate creme pie and got some lovely birthday presents such as some great goblincore items and a stunning little Bulbasaur figure but there's still this lingering sadness during what's supposed to be the happiest time of the year. Has anyone else experienced this type of mellow filled happiness??
