whats the point of being on this website if all you're gonna do is decorate your profile cuz ur soooooo "2000s core" and then just add 90+ people and then dip the next day and never touch the website again.
why are people on this website if they're not gonna talk to anyone

I think it's because people just don't know how to use this site. Most kids who make accounts here for the "2000s aesthetic :3" never seen blog pages or forums in their life. Because of that, they don't know how to move around here. Also they're brainrotted and used to constant dopamine.

I feel like a lot of people just like the idea of “old internet” but are too used to the modern experience. So they get disillusioned the moment they give something like this a try. Tho that’s just my two cents of this topic idk bro.

No actually bc no one realizes you have to find things/people you like and th people who use the site half of the time make blogs that are two words long so there's nothing to talk about
exactly bro

Ugh FR!!! I go through my friend list every few weeks and unadd inactive ppl!
I also hate ppl who just make their profile cool and then add no text!! Like ok it looks cool but who are you bro? It’s really weird and I don’t even wanna glance at them ( ⸝⸝・̆⤚・̆⸝⸝)
they thrive off of profile comments from random people they dont even know saying "ur pr0file 1s so c00l :>>>" or some shit like that

Short answer: social media permanently brainrotted them.
A lot of younger people come on here because they see people talking about this site on TikTok and Instagram Reels in a way that fetishizes the 2000s/2010s - "look at SpaceHey, it's so scemo MySpace Rodrick Heffley-core!!!"
So then these people join and, because most of them didn't actually experience the 2000's/2010's, they are unfamiliar with how old sites work. They don't know about blogs, forums, message boards, and other aspects of the old internet UI. They only know the bubbly vibrant flashy icons from mainstream social media. So they just get confused and leave
bro exactly that its genuinely infuriating like i said in another comment people need to learn YOU ARENT BEING SPOOD FED CONTENT THAT INTERESTS YOU. You're going to have to FIND stuff that makes you want to interact just like me and you are doing now. The genuine i guess fetishization of the 2000s and 2010s genuinely is driving me nuts.

I idolize the era too tbf. As do you, and everyone here - which is WHY we are on this site in the first place. But I actually experienced that era so I'm used to these facets of classic internet. To many, it's more of an aesthetic than something they wanna experience. And when this isn't flashy enough to grab them like an aesthetic, they leave.
I even have my UI on my computer set to all the Windows XP/7 icons and noises and everything. Because of time, people now look at the 2000's the same way we did the 90's. That's kinda where Vaporwave comes from. As much as I love Vaporwave, it's admittedly an aestheticized fetishized poor understanding of the 90's.
So now, with time and age, the newer generations are sensationalizing the 2000's the same way. And they also have a poor understanding of how this all works. Modern social media post-2020 is built on algorithms that keep you within an ingroup rather than finding new things. On this site, you have to search for people. They can't handle it so they leave.

i think a large part of the problem is the lack of algorithm here that keeps tweens/young teenagers glued onto apps like tiktok. a lot of people would rather be spoon fed generated content and realize once they join spacehey for that "2000s teen" aesthetic they saw on tiktok that you actually have to go out and look for people to talk to and contribute. spacehey is awesome though if youre willing enough to look for the good community, comment on blogs, chat in groups, and be consistent!
Well yeah its js annoying af how i have to KEEP on unadding people because they add me --> i message --> and then all the sudden they havent been online in 3 weeks.
People need to realize that the content isnt gonna be spoon fed to you like on tiktok our brains are so insanely rotted by tiktok and reels.

Probably because there's not a whole lot to talk about. Just look at the top 10 blogs and you'll see what I mean.
not my point. I'm saying theres PEOPLE on here and they add tons and then just dip as if the people they didnt add are LOOKING for friends. Most if not everyone on here is LOOKING for people to talk to.
