Place watched: YouTube [itz literally everywhere tho]

Rating: 5.00/5.00

this is one of those matches. A match that truly doesn't have an equal in its field. That field, being big massive men being big, massive, and men. These two were at their absolute peak of their powers in 2005, both coming off of their most successful and lengthy world title reigns in Ring of Honor &  Pro Wrestling NOAH in Japan respectively. Both men are legends, of course, and this is a legendary match that again, has no equal. I feel like if summarized it like I did the other two ive done previously it wouldn't do it justice. There is just so, fucking, much, crammed into the 20 or so minutes these two go at it. What i can go over though, is how it affected me personally, which i usually go over at the start n at the end.

For Samoa Joe, it made me more of a fan than I already was. He's always been a wrestler I've liked and had respect for, when he was in WWE I liked him alot and thats only grown since he got to AEW. Seeing this match made me a super fan of Samoa Joe. He went from 23 on my top 30 favorites [go to show how well I already thought of him] to at least top 10. The man is so, so, so good, especially against Kobashi. Samoa Joe is very inspired by Japanese Wrestling [which ill be calling puro, puroesu, or prowrez in these blogs,, kinda just, pick up on the lingo as we go.], especially Kobashi and his contemporaries in AJPW and then NOAH. Kawada, Misawa, Taue, and Kobashi [the four pillars of all japan pro wrestling. Youll be learning their names quickly] all heavily inspired Joe. He does their moves, but always make it his own. Last review I said one of Samoa Joe's best qualities was that he was a thinking man who always had a strategy beyond just his size, and this match exemplifies that quality. What a man.

For Kenta Kobashi,, well this was the first full length match I've ever seen of him, truly. I figured I should use Joe, whom I already knew well, to bridge the gap into Kobashi and Japanese wrestling at large. It fucking worked lmao, Kenta Kobashi is already one of my favorites. I just keep watching him chop the living shit out of Samoa Joe and its wonderful. He's so fun to watch, such a good heroic babyface. He's also hot as fuck?? Like, huh???? What a mannnn. Anyhow, the way he guts through the pain, the way he just FIRES THE FUCK UP OUT OF NOWHERE WHEN IT LOOKS LIKE ALL IS LOST, AFTER JOE HAS PULLED EVERY BIG MOVE OUT OF HIS BAG TO GET THE WIN?? THE MACHINE GUN CHOPS IN THE CORNERE WHERE HE DOES LIKE 70 OF THE BASTARD HITS TO SAMOA JOE LIKE WHAT

hes so cool.

If you want an actual dissection of the match, Kim Justice has a rlly cool video on youtube about it. Watch that. Thats all I have for this blog tho. Next blog ill be talking about Kenta Kobashi vs Yoshihiro Takeyama with a bit more detail than I did this, so get ready for that.
